Hi Bud, Well audacity is free, so worth getting. If you want to run noise reduction plugins, then I don't know what goes with audacity for that purpose, Goldwave has such a plugin, and of course sound forge. Now we are getting in to significant dollars though. If you have further trouble, drop me a note and I'll send you a link.. I have a product that will not only record your records but also name / tag the songs with artist name and album for you plus split each song for you while recording. Its an application and its not free. Another user has told me he has successfully done this with the application I am talking about here. I need to check if Window-Eyes 9.1 can handle the application's user interface. I recently downloaded Window-Eyes 9.1 here. Re: putting records on hard drive
Nancy You will first need to know what kind of cable to use to connect from your record player to your computer's input. What kind of record player do you have? one that plugs into the AC power or USB type. Windows Vista is ok to use. Most records do have silence between tracks and that is the key. This application will also record music streams online via the web as long as there is silence between the songs played. I have blind discount code you can use if you like the product. You can download this application without paying for it just to see how it looks. You can record in WAV / MP3 format to name a few. As for removing sctraches and the like I do not see this option but if you want to have your music digitized and split and tagged this application will do it. I have no way of knowing the success rate when it attempts to tag your music with artists and album name but a user told me it did for him very well the tagging. You must be connected to the internet for the tagging to work. Before you buy this application try it for free first and check the sound quality of the recordings. If you like it buy it with the blind discount code. It works using JAWS and NVDA. The application is Replay Music 7 from http://applian.com If you need the direct download link let me know. Also read the user guide there. I have done audio tutorials on this application. I can assist over the phone when you are ready. -Original Message- From: Nancy Shackelford Sent: Friday, June 05, 2015 10:16 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: putting records on hard drive I have many records I need to get out and digitize; I'm soon going to JAWS 16 and hopefully Windows 7; will this product work with this, and where can I get the product when I get ready to record? Nancy More info for you below. If you want I can do a JAWS tandem session for you when ready. You will need to go the settings tab then to Recording settings tab properties and change a setting to the records transfer from record player to computer using Replay Music 7. You would change a setting here to Device (combo box) and then tab and tell it like your sound card type input which is line-in. Your sound card will appear in the list after you have chosen device in the first combo box. You will tell it your format like MP3 and the bit rate. Both are combo boxes. Also, you will need to examine two other settings within this same tab audio recordings dealing with ssilence settings. Record Silence should be set to OFF Split on Silence should be set to ON Only tested with JAWS and NVDA. Replay Music 7 Some of the keys work below. I do not have iTunes here. Keyboard Shortcuts Alt + R = Start or Stop recording works Alt + S = Split recording works Del = Delete selected recording(s) from computer F2 = Open the ID3 Tag Editor Enter = Play selected recording Ctrl + I = Import selected recording(s) into iTunes library Ctrl + W = Import selected recording(s) into Windows Media Player library Ctrl + O = Show selected file in Windows File Explorer Ctrl + C = Combine multiple selected files Alt + A = Show the album artwork in the Properties Window Alt + L = Show the song lyrics in the Properties Window Alt + T = Lookup ID3 tags (artist, song, album, etc) for selected song(s) Alt + Enter = Open the recording properties window Alt + I = Open file browser to Import songs into Replay Music F1 = Open web browser to the Replay Music support page Alt + F4 = Quit User Guide http://applian.com/replay-music/support/user_guide700 Support http://applian.com/replay-music/support/ Download Replay Music 7 http://applian.com/replay-music/download -Original Message- From: Nancy Shackelford Sent: Friday, June 05, 2015 10:16 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: putting records on hard drive I have many records I need to get out and digitize; I'm soon going to JAWS 16 and hopefully Windows 7; will this product work with this, and where can I get the product when I get ready to record? Replay Radio / Replay Music 7 Using demo info
I have tested with NVDA and JAWS 16 Replay Radio and Replay Music 7. Using Windows 7 Pro. Read the user guide. If you have Windows 8 read the user guide. You will need to use the stereo mix / what you hear. Applian wrote, All of our programs are available as free demos. One can use Replay Radio or any other program in free demo mode forever. Using Rhapsody and Rhapsody Blind
Hi everybody. I've installed Rhapsody and Rhapsody Blind (the accompanying Jaws scripts designed by John Martin) but I'm still trying to get to grips with how Rhapsody works and what settings I need etc. I'm also finding that, even when I move between options in the preferences and so on, Jaws repeats the line above or below, making it hard to identify that I'm ticking the correct option or action. Does anyone please have any audio or text tutorials or website links that can help me in gaining a better understanding of the Rhapsody software and how to access it? Many thanks, Danny
