Multichannels in Sound Forge

2013-10-08 Thread Steve Matzura
I want to record something in Sound Forge while listening to another
file play. Is that possible, and if so, how is it done? I'd prefer not
to have to go to Sonar to do this, but if I have to, I can, and will.

Re: Multichannels in Sound Forge

2013-10-08 Thread Barry Chapman
While Sound Forge has multiple channels, I don't think it has multi track
recording facilities which is what you need. Audacity
apparently will do what you want, but I haven't used it myself.

You could sort of do what you want with Sound Forge. For example, say you
wanted to record your voice over a backing track, you
could play the backing track in something like Winamp whilst recording your
voice with Sound Forge. Then you could load both files
into Sound Forge, adjust the start so that they were both in sync and do a mix.

Quite right. There's a site called www.litento youtube through which you can
convert Youtube videos, but the original question was about video clips in
general and not website specific.

Thanks steve,

I'll have to investigate the Goldwave idea, as I love the program for other
reasons but never realised it could do that.

Tivoli iPal Radio

2013-10-08 Thread Dane Trethowan

Sent from Dane's iPhone +613400494862
Hi!

Has anyone tried or does anyone own a Tivoli Radio? If you've had experience
with one of these things then I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, the
Tivoli range of radios are supposed to be some of the best sounding sets on the
market but what about sensitivity? At the price these radios are selling for
then they ought to have something going for them, the model 1 sells for around
$300.00, here that's a tabletop model and the iPal - which I hope to lay my
hands on shortly - is a tough portable selling for $190.00 in Australia.

This portable is an FM/AM set with an internal rechargeable battery which is
supposed to give 16 hours of battery life, that's an acceptable figure for a
portable radio running on a rechargeable battery which only requires 3 hours of
battery charge.

Is there someone on the list who is familiar enough with Thunderbird to
know where it puts it's attachments. Someone sent me a file but he had
to change the extension to .xxx so he would be able to send it from his
place of work.

Thank you,
