Re: Is there a location to listen to archived NCAAMen's Basketballgames?
Kentucky is available through the U-live site. Some teams do offer archived games, and some do not. For instance, Auburn offers the live football broadcasts, but not on demand. Best thing to do is to visit the official UK athletic site, and search there. I'll try and look for you, and see what I find. - Original Message - From: "Kevin Minor" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2011 10:55 PM Subject: RE: Is there a location to listen to archived NCAAMen's Basketballgames? converting an improper wavefile
Hello, Listers I recorded and edited a concert which my CD burner rejects as an incompatible wave file. The only clue I find is that if I examine the information about the file it shows a number: 1536. I see from looking at other files that I should see: 1411. I am running Goldwave a late but not the latest version. My suspicion is that I may have pressed the wrong frequency button on my Zoom H 4 recorder. Can I recover this file or will I have to record in analog? I originally copied the file from the SD card used in the Zoom. Thank you for whatever help you can offer. Joe G. Re: converting an improper wavefile
Hi, you should downsample it to 44.1 khz and it should work. Goldwave is able to do that: in the menu effects choose resample. Altec Lansing inmotion KICK IMT 520 portable iPhone/iPod Dock
One word sums up this unit, "Beautiful!" in both looks and sound and price, I bought the power house for $85.00 Australian, normally this little beauty is around $225.00 Australian so shop around. A brief description, the dock looks like a very square boombox, a speaker each side of the dock itself. Basic controls are on the top of the dock and they're well spaced with nice big buttons, if you have good touch you'll be able to feel the symbols and writing on each. The controls turn on power, play/pause, adjust volume up and down and go to previous nad next track, a more advanced control layout is offered on the remote. Sound is what you'd expect from an Altec Lansing device, plenty of bass, plenty of mid-range and hice crisp clear tops. The set uses an internal rechargeable battery which gives around 6 hours of playing time, when the dock is powered the iPhone or iPod will charge with the dock. Convenience is another word which can be used to describe this piece of equipment, you can for example pick the unit up and set it down on a stirdy stand in a few seconds with the use of the folding handle, fold it upright to pick the device up, fold it into a middle locking position to make a angled stand for a desktop or tuck the handle away completely when carrying the dock in a case or a bag. The small card-type remote control for the Dock slits into the back panel when not in use or when transporting which is a nice touch, no excused to lose the remote control for this dock . On list we've discussed the Jawbone Jambox speaker system so I guess the obvious question is, "How is this dock different from the Jambox?". Firstly, the inmotion KICK IMT 520 is a wired dock, that is to say that an iPhone or iPod plugs into it either by the dock connector or via the line-in jack at the rear of the unit, this dock does not have Bluetooth facilities and nor is it a hands free Speakerphone. If a call does come and your music is playing, the music will be paused allowing you to answer the call in the usual ways, either by tapping the screen of your iPhone or by using some sort of speakerphone device. How does the sound compare to the Jambox? We're talking 2 totally different beasts here, Jambox has a more "Solid" sound however Jambox would be totally out of place in a noisy room or at a party, the Altec inmotion KICK IMT 520 is clear and loud enough to be heard at your party or gathering so in the words of the brochure for the system "Pick it up, put it down and play!". loss of bass in my zoom h 4
Hello Everyone, I have been using my H 4 for a couple of years and achieve great results. The 48-volt phantom power is a great feature. A few days ago I got lost somewhere in the menus while changing between the internal mikes and the external mikes. I got that straight eventally but from then on the bass response was down perhaps as much 20 dB. I never use the Effects module. Even so, the only place where there's a mention of bass cut or boost is when using "Effects." It looks to me that whatever is done with Effects, it wouldn't include using external microphones. Has the machine failed or is this cockpit error? If the latter, how do I fix this? Thank you very much. You are all much more expert than I'll ever be. Joe G. Re: Altec Lansing Expressionist Ultra Speakers
Oh ok fair enough I just wanted to know thanks for replying back to me on this topic because I love speakers that you can hear all sound from especially surround sound, enough that you can feel the vibration of the music and just hear the beautiful sound. I have 2 model of altec Lansing speaker system here both of which I like very much. I have the Expressionist Plus which I mentioned about a month ago and the Expressionist Ultra which I've been talking about over the last week or so. The Expressionist ultra speakers are one of the very few sets of speaker system for computer systems where the sound is "All there", the mid-range, the treble and certainly the bass and it appears that no materr what volume you run this system at there's no distortion so its obvious that the 5 digital amps in the system are doing their job . One thing that does annoy me about this system and its a very slight annoyance is the subwoofer, its huge! standing 15 inches high, looks more like a pollished wooden PC tower case so if big sub-woofers annoy you then don't bother with this system. Yep, Creative and other company's have offerings which are very well reviewed but it will be up to other list members to comment on these as I don't have experience with them. As far as accessibility goes? Well in the case of the speaker systems I've been discussing, w're talking speakers and not devices with screens one cannot read . As you'll see it looks like a mini witches hat, the hat itself turns in either direction, you'll hear or feel it click as you turn it, each time it clicks the faster the control. For example by default the knob controls the volume, turn it to the first click clockwise and the volume increases slowly, turn to the next click and volume increase is more rapid and so on. On the top of the controller are 3 buttons, 2 which are big and a middle button which is small. The upper of the 2 big buttons is your treble, press once and then turn the knob to adjust treble. The lower button is your bass, press once and then turn knob to adjust base. The smaller button in the middle is your "power" button, press once to turn power on and press again to turn power off. This button has another default, if held down for 3 seconds the speakers are reset to their default volume, bass and treble settings. Now their could be more options and settings I don't know about, I mentioned that the manual isn't the readable type so everything I've mentioned here I've found out by playing around with the system. Winamp, reinstalled but how do I find?
Hi folks. When I originally installed winamp I selected the "full" option. It took 2 or 3 minutes to launch. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled but this time selected the standard option and Classic Skin. It launched a bit quicker but once I exited it, I couldn't get it to relaunch again. I added a very large folder to the library but I can't find that list of tracks. There over 10,000 tracks in there but I can't find a list of these tracks. The player does play the music from this track list and by pressing the letter V I can move to the next track. However, I can't find out How to view the whole track list. I know when I launch Winamp all I get once launched is the message increase volume and decrease volume when I press the up and down arrows. I have to press alt and F to get any options. I know lots of people love this programme but it doesn't seem very accessible on first impressions. If anyone has any suggestions then they would be appreciated. Walter. I did manage to get a 104MB file called itunes10.5.1.dmg which windows won't open. Windows suggested that i need something called paretologic pc health advisor--which I downloaded and installed. Still no go. Is it worth all this. Seriously, I'm not an iTunes user, but I went to itunes.com, clicked on the What is iTunes link and saw the following: Overview All your digital media, all in one place. iTunes Player Where you organize, listen, watch, and play. iTunes Store The world's #1 music store. And more. iTunes Everywhere On your Mac or PC, iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Apple TV. Play, buy, and enjoy your music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more. Everywhere. I'd suggest going to http://www.apple.com/itunes/what-is/ to check it out. If you're still interested then you can download the program for the Mac or Windows and start organizing your music, playlists and podcasts and visiting the iTunes Store. Obviously, if you're going to get an iPhone, iPod or iPad then iTunes is what you would use to synchronize your content between the different devices. I mainly like iTunes I have to admit for the "Smart Playlist" feature where you can create aplaylist and literally programme it to play what you want to be played, for example if a song has been played over so many times, if a song was added on a particular date and so on. Re: Winamp Versus wmp Versus VLC Versus....
Hi do you have there version of the mad plug in. That will work with the newest version of win amp? If you do would you please send it to me. On 12/3/2011 11:20 AM, Dane trethowan wrote: that's not quite true, there are different quality decoders out there for MP3 files for example, the Mad plug-in for Winamp is one of the nicest I've heard. I'm toying with the idea of experimenting with various media players. Unfortunately not all are worth the trouble and still others are not accessible with JAWS. At this time I use both VLC witch does a good enough job and WMP which is fine but rather restrictive. I'm referring here to playback and neither ripping nor burning as I use Nero express for burning, and now and then Express burn. For ripping I use CDEX which I like. I used to use Reel player but when I got my PC reformatted I never did reinstall it. My question is how does Winamp compare with the other media players I've mentioned? I have never observed this player being used nor of course tried it. Is it accessible with JAWS 12 and or do you need scripts to access it's functions? How is the playback quality and response time. Sometimes the latest version isn't the best version so in your opinion, what version is the most successful? Finally, what other players would you recommend, free or otherwise. The important thing is ease of use, it is of little use if the sound quality is the best in the world but if you can't use it with a screen reader then it is a waste of time. All comments will be welcome and read. Walter.
