The only thing I'm confused about is, if it's class 2 that is the long

You can't do that as bluetooth has very limited range and is really

things like that.

   HI PERFORMANCE FM-100MWS-LCD-E

   Digital PLL FM stereo transmitter

   ONLY $345 USD

   12 Volt Power Supply

Our New FM-100mW-LCD unit is ready to go and comes complete with
a compact rubber duckie antenna and well regulated 12 volt power
supply that works with 120 or 240 VAC sources.

All you need to do is hook up your audio source to the RCA
inputs on the back of the unit, and you are on the air!

This NEW 100 milliwatt FM stereo transmitter will well out
perform most of the low cost units on the market since it was
carefully designed to pass even the very lowest audio frequencies
down to 20 Hz and up to 15 KHz for the high frequencies. Believe
me, this unit sounds just like the big stations! Excellent base
and highs!!!
Its highly accurate crystal reference and PLL circuitry ensure you
will have a very stable signal at all times. The frequencies can

easily

be
selected by pushing the recessed buttons using a paper clip wire.
The frequency range is 88 to 108 MHz and the channel resolution is
100KHz. I should also mention that the stereo separation is
excellent! We tested this unit against 4 other stereo unit that
did not even come close.
The unit is housed in a very nice extruded aluminum enclosure
that shields the unit. No cheap plastic box used here! For more
range a high gain antenna could be used and connected to the
standard BNC connector on the back of the unit.

If you are seriously looking for a high performance Stereo
transmitter, this is definitely the one!

Bluetooth, wifi, ... [was "Re: best fm transmitter"]

I think they're thinking of class 2 bluetooth which has a range of
roughly 10 meters. I think this is the most common class of bluetooth
and the one people think of when they think of bluetooth. Wifi generally
has a greater range than that.

You're probably looking for more information than this, but there are
definitely noise canceling bluetooth headphones. I don't have any
experience with them myself, but I've seen this feature when shopping
for bluetooth headphones, and doing a quick search lead to quite a few
hits. BTW, I don't think noise canceling refers to noise over the
bluetooth connection, such as a hiss or anything, but rather
environmental background noise, such as a fan, AC, vacuum cleaner,
engine

Gold Wave VS Total Recorder On Changing Bit Rate

2010-01-20 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hello list: Hopefully this won't take too long to explain..but I ran across an
interesting problem: I had a file I needed to change the bit rate on, so I
could play it in VIP's "Chat client (in it's original form, it would not play
in that chat window) I said "no problem; will just run it through "Total
Recorder and all will be well!" Not so! I tried lowering; I tried raising..no
soap! But I have a friend who has "Gold Wave"..and he converted it to a bit
rate that was suitable for this particular chat client (works just fine!" So
my conclusion: Total Recorder doesn't give you the same amount of "bit rate
choices" as Gold Wave! Is this accurate? I've never had ""Gold Wave" on my
system before, so know nothing about it! But after this experience (if what
I'm thinking is true)..this might give me a reason to go get "Gold Wave!"
Thanks for listening..and hope someone can shed some light on this; hopefully
I've explained it clearly enough!

Total Recorder would do the same thing as Gold Wave (I mainly bought Total

changing bit rates is a nice "plus"..aw but it may not be giving me as many

Hi anders
Creative has some. Sony also and even Logitech.
But let me tell you this.
A chain isn't stronger then it's weakest link.
Meaning that if you want good sound then you have to ensure the signal flow
is of good quality all the way from the source to your ears.

Best regards

Hmm, what i meant was a chordless headphone transmitting over fm or such
bands.
Bluetooth are digitally broadcasted so i gues there is no need for it there
for me.

You're probably looking for more information than this, but there are
definitely noise canceling bluetooth headphones. I don't have any experience
with them myself, but I've seen this feature when shopping for bluetooth
headphones, and doing a quick search lead to quite a few hits. BTW, I don't
think noise canceling refers to noise over the bluetooth connection, such as
a hiss or anything, but rather environmental background noise, such as a
fan, AC, vacuum cleaner, engine

Hello all list members,
Just as the tidal says, I wish to do tight cross fading in Winamp.
But here is the funny thing.
With one play list that I have, Winamp fades them real tight.
But all the other play list that I have, this doesn't happen.
Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thinks in advance.
My best regards.

Hello list: Hopefully this won't take too long to explain..but I ran
across an interesting problem: I had a file I needed to change the bit
rate on, so I could play it in VIP's "Chat client (in it's original form,
it would not play in that chat window) I said "no problem; will just run
it through "Total Recorder and all will be well!" Not so! I tried
lowering; I tried raising..no soap! But I have a friend who has "Gold
Wave"..and he converted it to a bit rate that was suitable for this
particular chat client (works just fine!" So my conclusion: Total
Recorder doesn't give you the same amount of "bit rate choices" as Gold
Wave! Is this accurate? I've never had ""Gold Wave" on my system before,
so know nothing about it! But after this experience (if what I'm thinking
is true)..this might give me a reason to go get "Gold Wave!" Thanks for

Re: Gold Wave VS Total Recorder On Changing Bit Rate

2010-01-20 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Perhaps I am missing something; however, are we talking
about changing the sampling rate; or, are we talking about
changing the playback rate, whatever it is called? I ask
because with Goldwave, I can record an NLS cassette playing
at 3.5 inches per second (which is four times the playback
rate). I will record with Goldwave using a bit rate of 64
khz. Then when I playback that recording with Goldwave, I
change the playback rate to 16 KHZ and the recording plays
at the normal speed. With total recorder, I do not have
this option. I love Total Recorder but prefer Goldwave in
this instance.

One little foot note. With recent versions of Goldwave, I
no longer see the V U meter as I did in previous versions.
Conversely, Total Recorder's V U meter is wonderfully
accessible. So my point is that I use different sound
editors contingent on the task at hand. By the way, if you
have it, studio recorder is also an excellent audio editor.
Some folks love Sound Forge, but I have always felt it is
over priced although it has a lot of features.

Re: Gold Wave VS Total Recorder On Changing Bit Rate

2010-01-20 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hi Don and list: Well..I don't know if I mean "sampling rate" or "bit rate"
(I was trying to bring it up to a level where the VIP Conduit chat site's
"music player" would play it (it's kind of finicky about what it'll
play)..if the (I think this is what I mean)..bit rate is small, it doesn't
seem to know how to deal with it..and will just "lock up!" But what you're
saying means perfect sense to me (certain programs (sound editors)..work
better in different situations. As I stated earlier: I mainly got Total
Recorder so I could record different shows..especially works in situations
where I'm not going to be here! I recently learned (thanks in part to this
list)..learned how to use Total Recorder to change and convert files. But
apparently (as Robert pointed out)..when it comes to changing the bit rate
(if that's the term)..you have more of a margin to work with in Gold Wave!

You can't do that as bluetooth has very limited range and is really
meant for cell phone headsets, close range computer keyboards and
things like that.
