MP3 audio files

2008-11-23 Thread DayStar Promotions

Hi all,

I have placed all of the MP3 audio files from an MP3 Bible into a
single folder on my desktop. All of the files for the entire Book
are correctly and sequentially numbered and automatically placed in
order in that folder. I hit enter on the first file which begins to
play in WMP. AWhen the first file is done, everything stops. WMP
won't play the next ordered file until I go and hit enter on it.

Question:

What do I need to do to the Bible folder in order to make the
computer's media player play the files one after the other without
stoping - just like what naturally happens when you were to put the
original MP3 CD into your CD drive.

Be thankful,

John

Or, you can create a playlisk and save it to the same folder so when you
enter on that it will load all the files for you.

RE: MP3 audio files

2008-11-23 Thread Walter Ramage
Hi John. Firstly, launch Windows Media Player. Next tab until you come to
"shuffle" and be sure it is turned off otherwise your files will be played
in a random order. Once you have made sure the shuffle is turned off go to
the folder where you have your bible files stored and open it. You have two
options here; you can do a Control/A to select all the files or highlight
Genesis 1 Verse 1 and do a control/shift/end key. This second option is the
best because if you have already read from Genesis 1 verse 1 to Exodus
chapter four Verse 10 then you will want to on your next visit listen from
Exodus 4 verse 11 onwards and not the part you have already listened to.
OK, lets say you have highlighted genesis 1 verse 1 and you have pressed the
control/shift and then the end key. That means from that point to the end
has been selected. now tab to "Tool Bar." This may say "Toolbar Close
Button" and if so, hit the space bar to open it. You now tab once and you
should hear "music Tasks Outline Button Expanded." Once you hear this,
press the down arrow once and you will be instructed that to play your
selection you have to press the space bar and then your files, in order will
start to play. If I mentioned earlier, if you want to play from a part
further down, say from a point in proverbs or Daniel ETC. then come down to
that point and do as described above. Hope this is of help.

Hi John,

You need to select all files by pressing ctrl+a before pressing enter.

Can Replay AV record JAVA streams?

2008-11-23 Thread Larry Higgins
Actually, I have Total Recorder, and one of the rather frustrating
issues I have with it, is its inability to record JAVA script
directly. I can record using the software driver, if I remember
correctly, but while doing so, I cannot mute the output from the
stream. If I could only find a way to record these streams and not
have to have the output coming through my speakers, I would have it
made. Please don't suggest turning down my speakers, for obvious
reasons . Any ideas. And Yes, I would like to know if Replay AV is
able to do this with greater ease.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

Follow-up.

2008-11-23 Thread Dave McElroy WA6BEF
Just as a followup to my winamp issue, I uninstalled 5541 and reinstalled
version 5.1. Presto! My Ogg files are back and I don't have to deal with
that stupid "now playing" web page.

Is there a better way?

Trouble with ogg files

2008-11-23 Thread Dave McElroy WA6BEF
Since I loaded the newest wimanp, I can't seem to play my ogg files. Winamp
opens and just says "stopped." Is there a plugin I need? Help.

On another note, I tried to play a DVD on this new PC and was told that I
don't have a DVD encoder. This doesn't automatically come as a part of WMP
version 9 or 10?

Thanks much guys.

Re: broadcast recorders

2008-11-23 Thread Kelly Pierce
I'm not sure what your specifications are for a recorder. The transom
website for public radio producers and reporters did a review of the Sony
PCM D50 earlier this year. It can be found at:

http://transom.org/tools/recording_interviewing/200803_sony_pcmd50/

Neal Ewers did a review on this recorder on Blind Cool Tech and found it to
be highly accessible offering incredible results with low background noise
equivalent to that of minidisc recorders, which were a broadcast standard.
give Neal's review a listen as well as the audio files on the page with the
review and hear the difference for yourself.

Do any of you know what broadcast recorders are user friendly for blind
people? I do news at a radio station in Salt Lake and they want to get me
a broadcast recorder. But I don't know what would be blind friendly. I
will talk to you later.
