Re: playing a dvd using windows media 10 with jfw 7

2008-03-16 Thread Lauren
Hi,

I downloaded the VLC Media Player. I put in my DVD into the PC and the theme
music started up. i still can't figure out how to go to the start of the
actual movie. There are titles and chapters. Forigve me for sounding so
stupid, but I am not certain the difference between them. How can I get the
actual movie to start playing?

Thank you.

RE: audio editor in nero 8

2008-03-16 Thread Ray's Home
If the audio editor in v8 of Nero is anything like previous versions,
then forget it. Not enough native keyboard support.

Suppose scripts could do something about this, but it's not as though
we've not got decent access to other audio editors.

Still, this said, it would be nice to be able to use the editor in
situ when compiling a track list in Nero, which of course you can do
from the context menu.

Cheers,

RE: playing a dvd using windows media 10 with jfw 7

2008-03-16 Thread Cornell Ligon

Hi,
I can't tell you anything about the list, but I often use WMP 11 to play DVD
movies. In most cases, it's a matter of hitting cntrl S to stop the initial
play, followed by cntrl P to start the commercials before the movie. In many
other cases, merely hitting enter will start the movie.
Your friend may be experiencing the screen that asks you to select which
version of the movie you'd like to watch, such as theatrical, behind the
scenes, final edit etc. It largely depends on how the movie studio set up the
DVD and of course, a number of features may not be accessed via screenreaders.

Best Regards,
Cornell

Karaoke program

2008-03-16 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
Can anyone advise of a program which will allow the playback of wavs, mp3s or
wma files and at the same time taking a feed from a microphone in order to let
someone sing along with the track. Ideally it would be good if there was a
reverb echo facility and even more ideally the opportunity to record the
results.
Is there a dedicated program like this, which hopefully is accessible? Can
Winamp go any of the way to meeting this? Would I just be better with a small
portable mixer? I would like to do it all in a laptop but don't know if I'm
expecting too much.
Regards.

Hi Gordon. When you have a file of a record with lots of pops, clicks
 and
overall surface noise, try the impulse filters first. They make a great
first step and they work especially well when you are dealing with the
entire file as you and I are.

Unfortunately I didn't know im personally.

But I had to learn from from reliable sources that apparently he hanged

I am so very sorry, and I sencerely regret not having thanked him more for

May he rest in peace.

Please appologise my clumsy language! I really think that we've lost a very

To get around this problem, I use DVD Audio Extractor to rip the audio
from the DVD and then I can use WMP, Winamp or any other MP3 player to
listen to the DVD. DVD Audio Extractor isn't free, and it can be
downloaded from http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/.

Hello everyone,
I too am sorry about the loss.
But to say that he's in a better place, that is a little misleading.
Because it is written, Block Quote Start, Your body is a temple of Gods.
If you destroy your temple, God will destroy you."Block Quote End.
There isn't anything about being in hell for all eternity.
But never then less, I too will be praying for Meikles's family.

I run a nonprofit program that teaches the various aspects of the music

Exact Audio Copy

2008-03-16 Thread Dan Kerstetter
Could someone on the list please post a link from which I can download the
subject program.

I thought I had the correct site and Exact Audio Copy is referred to in several
links, but for some reason I am unable to get to a proper download page.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Karaoke program

Hi, sornar 4 or I think it is up to version six now is very good for this
type of recording. Also if you have any vision, Adobe Audition is good for
multi-tracking. Soundforge can also do this type of recording. I use all
three programs. But I mainly use sornar for multi-tracking because the
caketalk is great in accessability.

RE: Karaoke program

2008-03-16 Thread Vy Pham
Hi,

Now I have another question, please! Is there any programs that would let me
to take out the singing voice, and just take the music itself? Suppose I
have a Michael Jackson cd, and I want to cut out his singing part, and just
get the music melody, and turn it into Karaoke. Is that possible?

Re: Karaoke program

2008-03-16 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi Vy fam
You can use Adobe audition for this - it's not perfect but it does work
quite well with a bit of time and adjusting. With Jaws only version 1.5 is
fairly accessible. There is a program called Vocal Remover from Power
Karaoke (I think that's the name of the provider) - you could google it -
it's quite cheap at about 29 dollars, it is accessible, although you'll need
to use the jaws cursor for some functions, but it's not as good as Audition.
It works better on some tracks more than others - it's good to have both
programs.
