You have to set the soundblaster card for surround. If yu want to calibrate it
you
will need sighted assistance.

Subject: Stereo and 5.1 speaker system

Hi all,

I have a 5.1 surround sound speaker system. When I was running Windows XP
with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, when playing stereo music, sound
would come out of both the front and rear speakers. It was still 2-channel
stereo. Now I have upgraded to a new computer running Windows Vista
Ultimate with a Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio sound card. The sound now
only comes out of the front speakers when playing stereo music even though I
have the speakers hooked up to the front and rear jacks on the card. Using
PowerDVD I can up-mix stereo to 5.1 sound, but I have to play the music
through PowerDVD and it is not a friendly audio player. Does anyone know of
any software that will correct this problem short of manually connecting
both the front and rear speakers to the front jack when I want to play music
and then changing them back to hear 5.1 movies. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Vic

Re: a good pod cast program.

2008-01-04 Thread tickpub
Hi back, i found this thing called IE web or something close to that. but
it is a total copy of IE explorewr but only with text and especially for
blind users. But when you download it, you also get about 5 other small
programs with it and a few of these are excellent for searching pod
casts, loading pod casts and playing pod casts. You don't have to use all
of them or even load them but they work well with my xp home windows jaws
set up. I still use the normal windows IE but for pod cast searches I
relally like this IE web and it might be IEwebber.com or something like
that.
I cannot go to it right now, I am on the phone typing this and oh wait a
minute?web IE3 but it is something you might want to try and then if you
don't like it, just remove it which is easy.

Re: Ripping Settings

2008-01-04 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Yes, I'd recommend using VBR to get the best results in the smallest file
size.

Joint stereo is only really used if you are ripping at extremely low
bitrates so I would avoid using this.

my bass and trebel wettings under my volume control

2008-01-04 Thread Casey
Hi okay when I go to my start menu under all programs and accessories` and
intertament.
Then I get to my volume control and look at my bass and treble settings
there it it will say low bass and what ever the number is that I have it set
at and the same for treble.
Now there is also a high bass or treble but I try to get the low part of
that to go away and just say bass track bar 215 and treble track bar 255 and
it doesn't do that.
It says low before that so how do you get that to stop if at all?
This is using windows xp with window eyes 6.1 if that is of any help.
