Thanks for the response. How do you calibrate it even with sighted assistance?

When I was running Windows XP with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, when playing stereo music, sound would come out of both the front and rear speakers. It was still 2-channel stereo. Now I have upgraded to a new computer running Windows Vista Ultimate with a Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio sound card. The sound now only comes out of the front speakers when playing stereo music even though I have the speakers hooked up to the front and rear jacks on the card. Using PowerDVD I can up-mix stereo to 5.1 sound, but I have to play the music through PowerDVD and it is not a friendly audio player. Does anyone know of any software that will correct this problem short of manually connecting both the front and rear speakers to the front jack when I want to play music and then changing them back to hear 5.1 movies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
