Wellk, I understand but, but I don't understand the part about not talking about streams. Was there some thought that there would be bitter disagreement over them or what? Re: Any of you have trouble with Premier cd creator?
Hi! I'm not sure I understand the problem. i use premiere CD Creater exclusively for my cd/dvd burning needs, and on the whole, I'm very happy with it. Where are you having trouble closing it? When you burn a CD, you need to tab to the done button once it's finished and hit that. Then, alt-F4 should close the program with no troubles. I'm not sure if I explained that right, but if you aren't sure what I mean, you're welcome to contact me, and I'll try to explain it further. Re: List Rules Regarding Music Posts
David As I understand the guideline of not discussing streams, this refers to streams one has a personal interest in -- not streams in general. Otherwise, what you see happen on some lists is that each time someone does their homebrew internet show, they post a note about it. And reading that same stuff over and over from the same folks is a turn off for a lot of people and can, given the list, become the dominant posting on a list drriving folks away. Hi listers. I am wondering in most peoples opinions what program is the most accessible with jaws to write Cd/Dvds. Re: How do I turn off Winamp update.
Yes, from the main winamp window, press ctrl + p to open preferences. Select general preferences from the tree view, and then tab to the check box that reads "check for winamp updates on start up". Press space to uncheck the box, click close button and all should be fine. Please note: you have to be quick about pressing ctrl + p when you launch winamp, or the update will kick in and will disable the winamp hotkeys. Zen stone firmware upgrade
I've just been made aware of a firmware update for the zen stone. It's been available since August so some of you may already have updated your players but if not there's a link below where you can go to download the update. The biggest change is to reduce the time it takes for the stone to start playing. This has been reduced from 15 seconds to less than 5 seconds. Just download the software, connect your stone and then run the update. It takes seconds to complete and is very straightforward. I did lose my place in my current playlist so you might want to consider this if you're half way through a book. http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=213&sOSName=Windows+XP®ion=2&Product_Name=ZEN+Stone&Product_ID=16424&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=4 Kevin E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: VLC Keystrokes
The volume up and down (ctrl + up/down) will not work unless your screen reader is shut down, or in the case of jaws, if you press insert and 3 (on the number row) before pressing the hotkey. Please note that if you press insert and 3, the volume hotkeys will work once, after which you must press insert and 3 again, better just to shut down the screen reader. Gold Wave and JAWS 9, Anyone Having Problems?
Hi everyone, Thanks to everyone who responding publicly on this list and privately to me concerning my new job!! Thanks to all of you, I've been able to make things work using Gold Wave 5.22! Unfortunately, I'm now experiencing a serious problem using Gold Wave with JAWS 9, although everything works with JAWS 8 so I have gone back to that for the time being to keep myself employed. I wonder if anyone is experiencing problems playing audio in Gold Wave using JAWS 9.0, I have a call into Freedom Scientific support for the following problem, and I wanted to see if others are having the same problem so that we can get it fixed!!! My sincere apologies to the moderator if this is off topic, but I believe JAWS 9 and gold wave is relevant I hope. Problem: When playing a file using JAWS 9.0, the computer makes an error sound, it sounds as if you have reached the end of the document or that Windows has made an error. The sound keeps happening 7 or 8 times until you get an application error in JAWS and it either shuts down or at times continues to work even with the application running for a time. Further, any files that I try to cue and then split sound horribly distorted and staticky when I play them in JAWS 9. It makes no difference if I use the sound card in my laptop or use the Dectalk USB. If anyone could test this for me and let me know (privately please so as not to flood the list) if they are having problems, then we can report a bug to Freedom Scientific so that they realize that it is not just my computer. If it is just my computer, then I'll have to deal with that problem on my own. Thanks gain for listening, and best of holidays to all!! I think that it could even be as simple as creating a .jkm keyboard manager file for vlc media player that did not include those keystrokes, but I regret to say that JFW scripting is not one of my strong points so I could be wrong. thanks. Maybe scripts can be written that will do both of those keystrokes rather than having to do without JAWS totally. Ok I must be the exception to the rule then, my volume up and down keys work find when Window-Eyes is running, no need to press any other key combinations before volume up or down either. Hi. I listened to a demo on the dish network tech forum. Dish acquired slingbox around a month ago. From what I can tell, their software, at least for dish, comes up looking like the dish remote. You press buttons to get it to do what you want. Very disappointing. Don't know if you can use their regular software to access your dish dvr. RE: VLC Keystrokes
As a JAWS user, if I were using this program , I would create a new configuration file for vlc, then go into the Keyboard manager for Vlc and disable the Next and Previous paragraph functions, which you won't use in Vlc anyway, thereby liberating those keystrokes for use by the media player without first having to type the JAWS pass through key. Can you identify these
I hope this is not off topic for the list, but there are a few songs from the early to mid 60's which I have for a long time been trying to identify. I have them on some old reel to reel tapes and the quality is pretty bad. A medley of them can be heard at http://users.bigpond.net.au/chapman/Unknown.m3u For some I can guess or know the song title, but don't know the artist. If anyone can help to identify them, I would be very very grateful. Any advice as to where I might be able to get them would also be appreciated. Re: Any of you have trouble with Premier cd creator?
Hi, It seemed to get stuck when it asked me which kind of recording I wanted to do on the audio cds. Of course, then I found out that the file was too big for the cd and nothing wrote to it. Still, when I copied a data cd, I had no trouble. I have to go back to the manual and figure out which of those options for the audio cd I am supposed to do. I don['t need the program to put spaces in for me, since I already did that in goldwave. I'll try again and let you know how it goes. Re: Can you identify these
Barry, Some of the tracks are Australian covers of American songs while others sound like obscure album tracks of American groups. You can hear the distinctive sounds of the Delltones, the Crushers and, maybe I was imagining it, Col Joye and the Joy Boys. Other than finding a special interest surfing mailing list on usenet/easynews, the only suggestion I can make is to talk to the record librarian of a radio station that used to be big back in the surfing heyday. If you were in Brisbane, I would suggest 4KQ but I don't know the stations in Sydney. That is probably not such a bad idea because there is a radio show on Saturday nights on 4KQ that plays a lot of pretty obscure tracks from the 50s and 60s. I think it is syndicated to stations throughout Australia. If you could track down the person who compiles that, you might get access to a good record library. Perhaps you could give 4KQ in Brisbane a call and ask them who compiles the oldies show for Saturday.
