The trick is that when you make adjustments, you close down winamp and
restart it. I've had the same problem and that seems to work.

Hope this helps.

More on At-Large Recorder 2.3 (John)

2007-10-31 Thread petrakigianos-giasou
To answer John:
The SlingMedia tech support phone number is: 1-877-467-5464

The SlingBox device supports over 5000 devices.

The SlingBox device comes with all necessary cables that you
will need to use. It also uses a IR blaster.

You use the At-Large Recorder application from applian.com to do
your recordings for you.

When you want to watch your tv channels on your computer you run
the SlingMedia Sling Player software.

I know 3 people who are blind who use the Sling Player software
to watch tv on their PCs. One is in Denmark.
You will need to spend some time learning all the applications.
Take your time is my advice. Call Sling tech support for any
questions you may have.

You can also join the Replay (Applian.com) products mailing
list:

On this list you can ask questions on At-Large Recorder 2.3.

Just for you to know there are other avenues in this. You can
use Media Center from Microsoft and this requires a tuner card.

Rick Harmon uses ATI's software to record tv off his satellite
box. Go to blind-geek-zone.net and choose the audio link.

Re: Queuing up a file

2007-10-31 Thread Kevin Lloyd
As far as the music goes, you could create a playlist in windows media
player containing all the tracks you want to play in the sequence you want
to play them. You can set JAWS not to echo your key presses and use control
+ P to play and pause as required and control + F to go to the next track.

To stop the next track starting straight away, you could record 5 minutes of
digital silence and insert this track between each of your music tracks.
This would give you chance to do what you want to do before hitting control
+ F when you're ready to play the next real track.

There's probably better DJ software out there that'll do this but this is
cheap and cheerful and you won't need to leave media player at all. Think
you'll be able to intersperse your video files in the playlist but I haven't
really played with this so couldn't say for definite.

Re: A sony disk problem:

2007-10-31 Thread Gary Wood
That's where I think it's wrong that we can't be able to copy CD's we have.
We're not trying to steal music, I don't think, but just trying to copy CD's
we bought with our money. If that's what everybody's doing, it's wrong to
not let us copy CD's we may have originally paid for.
