No problem. You might still have problems if you have gaps at the end or
beginning of files. There some settings to tweek that but I'm not completely
sure how it's done. I believe it can be done inside the plugin just like
crossfading.

Well, I'm not at my Windows machine right now or I'd tell you exactly how to
find the burner component, but it's something like this. Hit your windows
key. Hit p until you get to the programs menu. If you land on the inside of
the nenu hit n until you hear Nero, otherwise if you land on program menu
hit right arror and then the n key until you hear nero. Inside the nero
menu are submenus with names like Audio, Data and sutch. Go in to audio or
data and look for Nero Burning ROM.

Exact Audio Copy Directory and File Question

2007-09-21 Thread Dan Kerstetter
How can I set up Exact Audio Copy to automatically put files into a directory
named for the artist? Also, is it possible to have the tracks ripped and
displayed in the order as they appear on the CD?

Thanks.

Re: Exact Audio Copy Directory and File Question

2007-09-21 Thread Bill Scherer
Hi Dan,
In my experience with EAC, I don't think you can get it to automatically put
them in to a artist's directory.
Also if you want to see the files in the order they are on the disc, I think if
you open the directory first then go
back to EAC and save them they will be in the directory in the order which EAC
saves them.
The next time you open that directory they may or may not be in that order
unless you set the parameters of
how you want them by going in to the directory and setting the details to how
you want them to be
displayed.
Hope this makes sense.

2007-09-21 Thread Dane Trethowan
Ok, well you can have Exact Audio Copy put and sort your files into
directories by using various variables such as %a for artist, %t for
title, %c for CD title etc, I fthink a full list of all the available
variables appear on the screen in the filenames tab.
If you have any further questions then you may wish to email me
privately as I use EAC all the time or nearly all the time, haven't
used it for a while but now I have Windows running as a virtual
machine on my Mac its time to use the best ripper in the world again
. There is also a reasonably new version too which can e
obtained from http://www.exactaudiocopy.de

Re: Exact Audio Copy Directory and File Question

2007-09-21 Thread Dane Trethowan
Yes to both questions, as I outlined in an earlier message, you need
to use various variables to tell EAC how you want the file named, you
can put the songs in order of how they are played on the original CD
in several different ways, the first is to use the track number
variable %n before the track artist or track title, the standard
format for a file name of a track however doesn't usually include a
track number, its just the artist followed by a dash and then the
track title, and you would set the variables in EAC'S track naming
edit box accordingly, "%a - %t",.
Now if you just use title and artist then you'll need to get EAC to
generate a playlist, when you open the playlist with Winamp, VLC etc
then the files will be played in the order they appeared on the
original CD.
Getting back to placement of files in directories with eac, use a
line something similar to this in the Track Name edit box to give EAC
an idea of where you want files placed, "%a\%c\%a - %t" would tell
EAC to create a directory corresponding to the name of the artist,
create a sub-directory under that corresponding to the name of the CD
and name the track with the artist followed by a - and then the title.
To tell EAC where your master directory is on your drive (that is to
say where you want all your music stored) then go to the "Directory"
tab of EAC and set it up there, you can also have EAC to prompt you
where you want each CD stored if you prefer that, I found the latter
approach very handy actually when ripping books.

Re: High Quality streams.

2007-09-21 Thread Dane Trethowan
Talking about quality streams, perhaps some of you may like to sample
what's on offer at http://www.tuner2.com and be aware that you'll
need a player capable of playing aac+ streams, Itunes, VLC and Winamp
will handle these, I'm sure of the first 2 but not exactly sure about
Winamp but I don't think you'll have any trouble. AAC+ is the new
standard being used for DAB broadcasting now.

Callburner VS Skylook (the difference)

2007-09-21 Thread JardataMailServicesBox
Hello Lists:

I have Skype (the latest) and Call Burner on my system; I also have Microsoft
Outlook, which uses Skylook to record phone calls and other things; and I want
to know, do I need Skylook if I have call burner? Could someone give me the
low-down on both programs. I would like to know which one to install on my
notebooks.

Thanks.

Re: Callburner VS Skylook (the difference)

2007-09-21 Thread Darrell Shandrow
Hello James,

CallBurner is a completely stand-alone application for recording Skype
calls, while Skylook is a Skype call recorder that depends on the use of
Microsoft Outlook. If you don't want your Skype call recording integrated
with Outlook, then CallBurner's your ticket. If you already have Skylook
and are happy, then you're just fine leaving things alone.
