My First Impressions of Safari Beta 3
Ok, I'm sure you've all noticed this but really, it would be nice if Safari and VoiceOver could indicate what links we've visited on a web page before as do the browsers Windows Internet Explorer and Firefox with both JAWS and Window-Eyes. Exactly the point and why I suggested that DVD-RW discs should be used, that way if one needs updating or if one goes bad then you can replace it. Noww that I have a tarabyte drive, I'm going to copy all my DVD'S of music onto it. It was suggested to people that if they were thinking of playing these DVD discs on DVD players that they be careful that the player was able to play them, som do whilst some don't. High Vickey, You can in deed do that, but what if you want to move away from your computer? Most every day joe DVD players won't play audio files that were burned on to a DVD. They are very costly, but there are DVD players that were designed to play DVD audio discs. I can remember 7 years ago, there was a format wore going on. It was a toss up between DVDA and SACD. I don't remember whitch one of those formats won that wore. But I do know about a player that can play both DVDA and SACD as well as video DVDs. I have Sound Taxi Version 2.73 or something similar. I've never heard of the other program's name. Express Burn
The free Express Burn program CD burner gives me strange numbers for total time used and free time when I load files to burn a CD. For example, it keeps saying 1:19 free time for every CD, and today it said over an hour was used up for some WAV files I set up, when I know it was not close to that. Is this a known bug in this program? I like to use it because it is very speech friendly with great hot keys, but this is a major problem. Hi, Jim. You may be right, but it seems that allmusicconverter converts rax files into mp3, which sound taxi doesn't seem to. My gripe with all music converter is that sometimes the mp3's that it produces can have weird little skips or odd repititions in the tracks. I've written to the programmers about that, so I hope they can fix that. Or is it me? Smile. Higher speeds for recording audio in nero or for that matter other burners tend to cause writing errors; trust me I've got the coasters ta proobe it grins. I think this depends on the quality of your drive and the amount of processor speed and memory you have. High Casey, I found in my experience, it doesn't matter what program you're using to burn an audio CD. The best results you will get, is when your drive is writing the files to CD at its slowest speed. Because if they're written to fast, most audio CD players will have a tracking problem with those CDS. Speed makes no difference in quality in any way. Speed has to do with the quality of the media you're using to burn on, higher quality can handle faster speeds, that's all. It is likely that if you burn at faster than 32X or so, errors are more likely and you'll waste a lot more media than at 16X which I generally use which is slow but always works. Right now I don't have a lot of good media so don't dare try burning on it faster than 16X or I have coasters all over the place. The copy you're making is digital so there is no loss whatsoever. About back up files:
My external drive is just about full and I want to delete most of the material on it. When I was using, Retrospect, compliment to Maxtor's software, there was a, delete back up files option but now that I'm running the Microsoft program, there isn't. Can I just delete files from the drive? If I do delete the main folders, what if anything do I do about the recycler information and the other files not directly associated with the back up data. Hi, Yes, it works with my Comcast cable box. There was a cord that came with the Adapt Tech that ended with a special end that went on the front of the cable box. That is how my keyboard commands were able to affect the cable box. You'll want to have your coaxial cable going in to your computer, so you will have maximum control of your TV commands. Not necessarily. CDEX doesn't have error correction and wave form comparison, rescanning the same track two dozen times. EAC can often salvage a scratched disc. there is much discussion on the Internet comparing the two programs, check it out. Does winamp, windows media, or ITunes have error correction, wave form comparison, or rescanning of tracks? Or is eac the only program that does this.
