SoundBlaster Extigy
Is anyone familiar with the SoundBlaster Extigy: http://soundblaster.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=207&product=585 The page mentions that it includes optical in/out connections, and a line-in connection. but it does not specifically mention an old-fashioned line-out connection. I want to be sure it includes one, as I want to connect its output to my home stereo receiver, rather than connect my stereo speakers directly to the extigy. Also, if anyone has any other feedback on installation or any other issues, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Thanks. Blessed Be, Dana that's Dayna, D A N A, NOT Donna, D O N N A D. S. Leslie, née C. Oh, I found some instructions around once that allow you to use Winamp plugins on the whole output if you set Vac as the default card, but this would cause me to get no speech as the screen reader would want to come through the cable instead. - Original Message - From: "David Truong" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. Re: VIrtual cable.
No, but I was thinking of it for recording Skype since I don't want to send the callers sound back to himself and make conferences sound like trash. I guess I'd have to live with the 3 repeater windows, which are hard to juggle if you do Skype and other tasks at the same time. - Original Message - From: "Anders Holmberg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. CD or DVD writer information please
Hi listers. Since my DVD writer died on me a couple of days ago, I am now in need of a new one. What seems to be the preference of everyone these days. One of my old favorites was a plexter 12/10/32 drive, but that was before the faster drives of the last couple of years. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hello Brent, On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, 2:53:16 PM, you bellowed the following: > Oh, I found some instructions around once that allow you to use Winamp > plugins on the whole output if you set Vac as the default card, but this > would cause me to get no speech as the screen reader would want to come > through the cable instead. Again, I don't see why you want to do this. If you really need default sound card to be a virtual cable, then kill all your windows sounds and force your speech to go over another sound card. -- Good Wednesday, -- Patrick Perdue (MCP, CNA) KE4DYI Greensboro, NC website: http://www.pdaudio.net home: +1(828)221-2971 Mobile phone and SMS: +1(336)509-5583 e-mail and .net messenger: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> skype: Borris For anything related to the yamaha motif line of keyboards and modules, subscribe to the motif-help mailing list by sending a blank message to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Hello Brent, On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, 9:36:09 PM, you bellowed the following: > I was thinking of it for recording Skype since I don't want to send > the callers sound back to himself and make conferences sound like trash. Well, Skype conferences sound like trash by default, so that's out already. What you could do if you really want though, if you only have one sound card, might be to redirect skype to one of the virtual cables for the it's output, then run a copy of vac to rout the cable back to your sound card, then running another copy of vac to get the sound from your sound card into a second virtual cable pair that you can record with. A lot easier to do with outboard gear, and something liek Skype surely isn't going to depreciate in sound quality given how bad it already is. Surely this would be a bit more feasible than using it as a default sound device?
