Nero Version 5.0

2006-05-01 Thread Pam Drake
We have Nero Version 5.0 installed on our computers. We really haven't done
much recording, but Friday I needed to make copies of a file and used the
program. It was easier than I thought. I recorded the cds from a file on
my hard drive.

Yesterday I tried recording the exact same file and had trouble. I tried
burning disks from the file I had made on Friday but couldn't seem to get it
working. I finally copied one of the disks and that worked, but it was
difficult. I couldn't remember what I had done Friday; it was all hunt and
peck so to speak.

I still need to burn two more disks of my file.

During the process of recording I ended up with two disks which just
wouldn't play after I believed I had recorded on them. I remembered seeing
an option in the burn menu to test a disk without burning it. I wanted to
test the two disks to determine whether they were bad or whether I was doing
something wrong; but couldn't find that option.

Are there any tutorials about Nero 5.0? Would it be better to upgrade,
although we aren't really doing a lot of recording, at least for now.

Finally, if someone would be willing to contact me with some suggestions,
maybe even off list, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: About Nero 6.1.

2006-05-01 Thread linwood
Dear Ken:

Doing a full backup sure can be a pain as it not only depends upon the
cApabilities of the program you are using but also there may be hardware
issues? Some hard drives require that you drag-n-drop programs to be copied
is one example.

Lot of luck!

Hello there, thanks for that.
Do you happen to know if rockbox will be able to record directly to mp3
in a future version? That's the only reason I still boot to the iriver

Re: Noise Reduction

2006-05-01 Thread Jerry Richer
Daveed! Noise Reduction 2.0 has nothing to do with Sound Forge
directly. It is a stand alone plug-in that works with Sound Forge and may
other programs. You have to notify Sound Forge that Noise Reduction 2.0 is
available on your system and that you would like to have it directly
available when you open Sound Forge.
In Sound Forge go under: DX Favorites then Organize. I forget exactly
what to do at this point but a little exploration might tell you. Go ahead
and play with it. You can't hurt anything.

Re: BookPort: Fast forward and rewind?

2006-05-01 Thread Dean Martineau
to elaborate, it is good to have a fairly recent version of the
firmware, since APH has made improvements in this aspect of the
device. Under Options, you program the time interval moved when you
hit +3 forward or 1+2 backward. the choices are 2 10 and 30
seconds. Also, 3, 6 and 9 forward or 1, 4 and 7 backward are
supposed to move by increasingly large intervals of time. this isn't
too exact in my experience, but then I'm not too exact either so I
haven't analyzed it.

Re: About Nero 6.1.

2006-05-01 Thread Tyler Wood
Hi Ken,

If you have nero start smart, just go to back up entire harddrive. Choose
your harddrive (you should have only 1, or if you have a USB one 2). Select
your recorder. Select dvd, and click next. Now click, I believe, burn. I did
this yesterday and it requires no drag and drop. If you have nero back it up
and not start smart, go to NBIU, and tab until you hear back up harddrive.
(This will take some getting used to; jaws skipps around some buttons). When
you hear it then list view, press shift tab. Eventually you will get to back
up hard drive. And trust me, the back up partial files is...near to
inaccessibility, unless I'm doing it wrong.
