Re: cool edit

2006-01-29 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi Michael
As far as I remember you go to whatever number of track you wish when using
the JAWS SCRIPTS then tab through the options until you hear 'arm track' -
by pressing space you toggle between armed and unarmed.

Re: Re[4]: Reading V U Meters In Total Recorder

2006-01-29 Thread linwood
Gentlemen:

Don't know anything about the meters but wonder if you guys can help with
the reason I rejected Total Recorder?

I am a subscriber to Freedombox and they for one acknowledge a conflict with
Total Recorder and I experienced other conflicts yet mention was made of you
using Sounge Forge without a hitch.

As I understand it, Total recorder takes over the sound card and doesn't
play nicely with other sound programs. Did you find a way to prevent this?

My latest challenge is figuring out how I can use Windows Media PLayer 10
but finding it difficult to burn although I don't have a problem with
(ripping). Wonder if either of you have attempted this program?

Will appreciate any comments you care to make.

The Winmx for the blind list has some info on this. I haven't been to
winmxworld.com in the last couple of weeks, but I think you can get an
updated patch there. And, be sure to wait a while for it to connect the
first time you try. It seems to take as much as half an hour the first time
or two. After that, it connects fairly quickly.

Re: alternate to winmx

2006-01-29 Thread nick danger
Hi Rick,

In order for the program to function as it should you need to have the patch
installed. This is what has everybody troubled. Once you put that thing in
there everything functions as it should. Somebody had the brilliant idea to
fix what wasn't broken originally and that's how all this started. Why can't
folks leave well enough alone when its doing its job right is beyond me.

Re: alternate to winmx

2006-01-29 Thread patricknc
You can get an updated patch from www.winmxworld.com. At first it takes up
to half an hour or an hour to connect, so it might be a good idea to put in
the patch, start winmx, & go do something else for a little bit. It does
get better later. Mine starts like the old winmx now.

CDR Disks

2006-01-29 Thread Kat
I am pleased to report that thanks to Kevin and Donna, I can now record/play
disks on my commercial CD player. Thanks so much for your help! Now I just
need to figure out how to deal with these disks.

In iTunes, when trying to add files to a disk that already contains a file
or files, the disk is ejected and I'm told this is not a blank disk. Well,
there is plenty of room for additional files so why can I not add them? I
realize the disk is not rewritable, but shouldn't I be able to add
additional files? Somebody told me that I could reformat the disks, and
would end up with a blank disk. Is that true? If so, how do I go about
formatting these disks? I will look around to find the answer to this, but
thought somebody may already know the answer. The reason I need to know is
that I accidentally put a file on a disk before converting it to WAV. Thus
I can't play that file on my CD player so want to get rid of it.
Additionally, iTunes is insisting that additional files can't be burned
since this disk is not blank. Well, c'mon there is only that one little
file so there is plenty of room. I'm going to try and put additional files
on this disk using Media Player so maybe that will do the trick.

Re: CDR Disks

2006-01-29 Thread Kevin Doucet
Hi,

If this disc is not re writable you will not be able to erase it.

I don't know about Itunes but if you are using some cd writing program like
Nero, you will only be able to add more files later if you do not finalize the
disc.

Hope some of this helps.

Re: CDR Disks

2006-01-29 Thread Dana S. Leslie
Kat,

And, as you discovered, if it is re-writable, your commercial CD deck won't
play it. There's no way out of this dilemma, short of getting a newer CD
deck capable of playing CDRWs. Just be sure, in future, that you know
exactly what you're about to burn to a CDR before you do so. And, as for the
CDRs you've already wasted, chalk them up to the learning curve; or you
could use them as coasters, Frisbees, or Hip-hop jewelry.

Blessed Be,

Dana

Download the software for free; it will work in restricted, demo mode. Then,
purchase a registration code, enter it into the software, and the rest of
the software is unlocked. That's fairly standard.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. 'Left click, right click' - to
activate most options as you go through the track perameters is 'space'. You

do you have skype? I think we can talk on there if you did.
anyways. What I want to do is take a pre recorded .mp3 instrumental, bring
it into cool edit, then whilst playing the instrumental threw the

My friend just clicks something with the mouse, and he does not know how to
explain it to me. He can do it, but he isn't always availiable.
thanks for all your help, and if you are on skype, call me at
