Re: an accessible subscription music site??????????

2005-03-21 Thread Denis
Hi Gary and everybody,

Using Winmx and similar programs is best with prepaid unlimited traffic, and
only to some extent affected by having a fast connection. It's file-sharing,
which means that you download files from somebody elese's computer, so the
download spped will also depend on that person's connection. Obviously, the
faster your connection is, the quicker you will get a file, but the thing is
that you can't always expect somebody on the network to have the file you
want. Therefore, P2P programs have a clever system of permanently searching
the file you requested on the network, and as soon as anyone who has it
comes up on the network, the download will begin. I personally think it's
good fun to find little surprises in my download folder every morning. I'll
say again that the networks are huge, so the chances are very high that you
will find what you want instantly, but if you really have a burning need for
some particular obscure song, I suppose online CD sphops will be your best
bet.

Warmest regards,

Denis

Re: Azar, "SF" how to split n reattatch em in SF 6?

2005-03-21 Thread russell Bourgoin
Hi Azar,
I hesitate to accept the moniker of expert since an ex is a has
been and a spert is a drip under pressure, but, to separate a long mp3 into
to files, load the file into sound forge, go to where you want the split to
occur, press enter there to pause, press either shift control home or end,
depending on whether you'd like to put the first or second part into a
separate file, press cntrol x to cut the selection into the clip board,
press control n to open a new file, press enter to accept the parameters of
sterio/mono, bit rate, etc, and finally press control v to paste from the
clip board into your new file, then do a save as and name your new
file. You can then control tab between the two open files.

The joining of files can be accomplished by loading both files
into sf, selecting the entire file you'd like to add, cutting or copying it
into the clipboard, go to the end of the beginning file, and pasting the
selection there, at the end o the other one. Practice with the little
ditties that come in the sf program folder and you'll get the hang of it.

Hope this helps a wee little bit,
Rusty

Is anyone using an Audigy 2 sound card, not the ZS model, who can tell me

Thank you.

2005-03-21 Thread patricknc
Definitely Broadband. The reason it takes so long sometimes is that if you
lose the connection or have to close it, when you come back, you may get
stuck far back in the queue. Also, of course, you're dependent on the other
person's upload speed.

Hi Randy,

Hey buddy, win DVD is perfectly accessible, and I installed it with no
sighted assistance at all. From what I gather, most people on this list use
Power DVD, But I like Win DVD more, probably because I understand its
inteface better. If you decide to go for Windvd again, when you install it,
just press letter B for a list of different menus, which are also accessible
from the main screen pressing different letters. It's a really cool piece of
software.
