Bruce, I'm surprised to know you gave up on Nero! I use Nero6 all the time with great success without scripts & with Jaws 5.10 & XP. I burn cd's, both cdr & cdrw, audio & data, plus DVDrw without difficulty & I'm very slow with things. Re: Best software to burn a cd
That's why I said that what's "best" is rather subjective. What makes perfect sense for me won't necessarily make perfect sense for you, and vice versa. I realize that a lot of people are having a great deal of success with Nero, and I don't mean to knock the program in any way. It's possible I wasn't trying as hard as I otherwise might have, since I was just curious and there was no pressing need to change from a program I was perfectly happy with. Re: Best software to burn a cd
Hi all, It's really just a question of what you started with. grin We all have our conservative habbits. :-) Years ago I did love adaptech easy cd creater no actually even more years ago it was called correl cd creater grin, but that's a long story. But when they released roxio cd creater 5 I had to learn it all over again. My sighted friends used to talk so much about this new Nero, so I decided to give it a try. And oh yes 5.5 did a nice job. I found that the wizzard got me up and running in no time, so I decided to go the Nero route. Then version 6 was released and we all had to start over again getting to know a quite new application. At that time there was no serious alternative as I'd dropped CD creater, so I choose to stay with the old 5.5 version for a period of time. But nowadays I'm more into dvd creating and therefore I had to find a more modern program to suit my needs, so Nero got into play again. I'm looking at Nero 6.5 now and when I first got to know the new wizard there's only afew keypresses before you can start burning a disk. But I think we would all agree that it's a bit of a nightmare every single time they decide to totally redesign the userinterface. Re: New MP3 Player Ready to Rival IPod
Brian, The Odyssey 1000 is no longer being manufactured. You might pick up a used one somewhere, but be aware that when the battery dies, e.Digital will no longer replace it. As of July 1, they no longer repair these players or provide accessories for them either. Delta soundcard question
Hi! I'm looking to purchase a new soundcard which will enable me make high quality recordings from an external source, say a digital sattelite receiver directly on to the hard drive of my computer. I also want to connect the PC to my hi-fi system, so would require a card which will deliver high quality output. Going on there excellent reputation, I've been looking at the Delta range from M-audio, in particular the Audiophile 2496. Would this card satisfy my requirements in both respects? or would any of the others in the Delta range be a better alternative. Would be most grateful for any opinions, as I'm fairly new to sound recording. Thanks, Tim, Bangor, N. Hi Bryan. But that's what the head of Premier Assistive Technologies said when he was at the For the People site. Re: Pitch Shifting with Soundforge
Hi Gary. I use Soundforge 7.0. I'm finally able to get into that area. First, I do have to press control r, then alt r, to get to the place where I can then do an alt c, then go to p for pitch. My problem was that I did that first after I did control n; but when I did that, I got something like "requires data to process," and "sound 1 contains no data." Now I can activate pitch shift. Now what do I do then to actually change the pitch? It says go down by thirds or fifths. Someone said to go to where you can preview the file. How do I do that? Re: Delta soundcard question
Hi Tim, The delta cards from M-audio are all really really good semi professionel cards. Maybe I'd buy a delta66 just to get the fine breakout box, where you can connect and disconnect your cables easily via the very solid plugs it has. But you'll also find the audiofile being a wonderful card. But I hate creeping around on the floor switching cables all the time. grin. RE: rockbox list for blind folk
Hi. The Rockbox list, which is not for blind users, but is for the users and developers of Rockbox as a whole, is at http://www.rockbox.org/mail/ The archives of the list, in which most questions are answered, is also at that page. Subject: rockbox list for blind folk Hi, all! I'm sure somewhere on this vast vast list somebody has mentioned this, but is there a list specifically for archos users who are using rockbox? I'm trying to finally make friends with my archos and have lots of questions. Thanks in advance for any help you may have. Re: Delta soundcard question
Hello, cd quality sound is 16 bit, and 44100 samples. If you're recording in 24 bit at 96 khz, the higher end audio will not be accepted by the lower cd-quality. Therefore, in order to retain the 24/96 parameters, you may have to use DVD audio. I'm not exactly sure about this, but there are detailed instructions and tips if you search on google for the FAQ on taping with laptops. A sound card with cd-quality sound will do fine, but I have no experience with recording digitally. I just plug a cord into the sound card with my source material coming into the line in port on the sound card from the cord. Thanks a lot. Matthew Tired of HotMail? I went back to WinMx 3.31 so that I could use the QuickMx program. Well... Winmx crashes after a few hours when I use Quickmx. There is an illegal operation that is logged in my faultlog.
