[mono-android] Mono for Android installation fails on Win7 Prof.

Hi Guys,

I try to install 'Mono for Android' serveral times with no success.
The installer don't find and download and install the Android SDK, that was
successfully installed previously by the installer, over and over again.
While the Xamarin MfA download, the installer stops before the progressbar
is full and crash:

Sorry, forgot something to say:

I have installed VS2012 Prof. on Win7 X64 Prof. too.

On my private computer I can install MfA successfully on a Win7 Home Premium
X64.

Alert from msiexec:

I suspect the installer can not download the whole package, because the
progress bar is not completely filled. It would be nice if there was the
possibility of an alternative download.
The 'mono-android-4.4.54.208556545.msi' has a size of 167.621.080 Bytes
(Size on disk = 167.624.704 Bytes).

That link help me a lot!
I have downloaded the msi-Installer successfully and run the installation
without any problems !
Thank you so much!

But  I have try to download the msi with Firefox 18 and the progress
stucks by ~161MB, like in the Mono4Android-Installer. So the download was
not finished !

I'm now in the lucky position  to have access to a linux internet server
with admin rights. I use 'wget' to download the package (very fast!) and
then a FTP-tool to make a lokal copy on my PC. A long way but works fine for
me.

I don't think that is a limitation to my system/network, because I've
downloaded bigger packages (>= 200 MB) before without problems.

Hope that nobody have the same problems like me and that's a 'extraordinary
exception'!

Hi James,

do you really read my last post?

You don't explain, what problem do you have. Do you use the Link above or
the official download from 'Xamarin.com'?

My solution was, to download the link from "Jonathan Pryor-2" on a linux
root server and after that download from my linux to my local windows
machine. Than the installation works fine. That's was I write in my previous
post.

Xamarin build a new downloader. Don't know if the same problem is still
there with the new installer. Do you try?

That's all I can say about solving my problem.
Maybe Jonathan has a new download link?
