Re: CPAN - ownership of Apache-GeoIP distribution
Hi Pascal, Thanks for getting back to me. > I took it over 7 years ago after writing > https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Ticket/Attachment/1308655/693442/Apache-GeoIP-1.99-apache24.patch > which was getting it to work on apache 2.4 but then I have learned > something which I have now forgotten and understood there was no point > doing just that. I’ll transfer your first-come permission to JEREMIAH, and tell him that if he doesn’t really want it either, then I can transfer it all to ADOPTME, so it’s visible to others as available for adoption. Merci, Neil
CPAN - resolving mixed ownership of Cpanel-JSON-XS
Hi Reini & cPanel, I’m one of the PAUSE admins. I’m tidying up distributions that have shared first-come ownership, since PAUSE tries now to not let this happen — it maintains the permissions profile on the lead module, regardless of who releases (in the past the releaser would get first-come on newly added modules). Cpanel-JSON-XS is one of these: the ownership is split between PAUSE users RURBAN and CPANEL. Given it is named "Cpanel-JSON-XS", Imy guess is that CPANEL is the right user, but I wanted to check. Either way, I’m happy to make the change for you, or you could do the appropriate transfer yourselves. Cheers, Neil
Re: CPAN - resolving mixed ownership of Cpanel-JSON-XS
Nope, RURBAN is the correct owner. CPANEL never used it nor maintained it. How come CPANEL requested ownership? The name will also soon be obsoleted and replaced by JSON::Safe. PAUSE ID request (JNORDEN; Jeffrey Norden)
Request to register new user fullname: Jeffrey Norden userid: JNORDEN mail: CENSORED homepage: https://math.tntech.edu/jeff why: I've been programming with perl for years, but mostly for my own selfish benefit :-) I recently wrote something that I think others might find useful: a background script that gets your email from an imap server and puts it directly into a local mbox file, so you can continue to pretend that it was delivered directly to your machine. It connects with https, supports keeping your password in a secure keyring, and uses IDLE rather than polling so email arrives without delay. It is, in a sense, almost entirely unlike fetchmail. I don’t know when or how the CPANEL user got perms, given you have done all releases. Was it part of another distribution at some point? Anyway, you have first-come on the package now. Cheers, Neil
