Sure, whatever.

I just want a name, any name.

I don't know what the process is though: is [EMAIL PROTECTED] advisory
and I make the decision, or is it manditory?

Tie::Hash::ComputedValue is fine with me. So is Tie::LookupAsFunction.

I hadn't considered going three levels deep. The suggestion of
Tie::Hash::ComputedValue leads me to have a pair of favorites:

Tie::Hash::Computed
Tie::Hash::Function

So, if [EMAIL PROTECTED] is advisory and nobody has strong objections,
I'll use Tie::Hash::Function. If it's more than advisory, then
please guide me.

Thanks,

-Dave

Net::ESMTP and Net::LMTP are client-side protocols
implementations. Net::Server::Mail::* are server-side ones.

I've created a module to read and write this data.

ah, okay.

i think this should be in Mail::* somewhere. perhaps Mail::Server::*?

i think that one would be good too. Tie modules tend to end up
in Tie::*, but its really just an implementation detail rather
than a description of the utility of the module.

Hmmm. The way I think it will be used is mostly to do minor

Module submission CodeGen::PerlBean

2002-11-10 Thread Perl Authors Upload Server

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:   CodeGen::PerlBean
  DSLIP:   RdpOg
  description: Code generation for bean like Perl modules
  userid:  ZOCCAV (Vincenzo Zocca)
  chapterid:3 (Development_Support)
  communities:

  similar:

  rationale:

First, I've already uploaded "CodeGen::PerlBean" to PAUSE (action
speaks louder than words).

"CodeGen" stands for generic code generation, which is what I have
done with "CodeGen::PerlBean". I haven't seen code generation
modules yet on CPAN.

"PerlBean": my code generates fully documented general purpose bean
like Perl modules.

  enteredby:   ZOCCAV (Vincenzo Zocca)
  enteredon:   Sun Nov 10 22:35:05 2002 GMT

The resulting entry would be:

Re: Reminder re: Device::Regulator::Plasmatronic

2002-11-10 Thread Scott Penrose
I am very flexible.

How about

	Hardware::Power::Regulator::Plasmatronic

although... Regulator = Power, maybe we could go

	Hardware::Regulator::Plamatronic

Could also be

	Power::Regulator::Plasmatronic

but that is not an existing name space.

I am really happy with any feedback. I cam up with Device::Regulator as
it seemed like the most obvious existing name space.

Any suggestions ?

since this thing is a power regulator, perhaps the namespace should

attachable/detachable large (bounded by memory model, ie 2-4Gb) shared
memory map between processes, tied vars using this shared memory,
read/write locking on tied vars. conversion of shared memory to
read-only compacted forms. can find no equivalent in CPAN that does
exactly what this does.

After much conversation with the developer, and some conversation
