Module submission EPI

2001-09-19 Thread Perl Authors Upload Server

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:   EPI
  DSLIP:   adpOg
  description: E-Payment Interface for
  userid:  GEORG (Gheorghe Chesler)
  chapterid:   24 (Commercial_Software_Interfaces)
  communities:
newsgroups, chatrooms

  similar:

  rationale:

I started building EPI because I could not find a common interface
of its kind. The module is developed to be of a similar
functionality as DBI, for payment gateway access.

Initially the module was built only in "The CITY Shop", an
object-oriented ecommerce package that I maintain, but many people
and companies expressed the need to implement this interface in
existing shopping carts.

Currently I have 8 distinct gateways built in, more than any
proprietary shopping cart.

Module submission Syndication::NewsML

2001-09-19 Thread Perl Authors Upload Server

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:   Syndication::NewsML
  DSLIP:   adpOp
  description: Manage and create documents in NewsML.
  userid:  BQUINN (Brendan Quinn)
  chapterid:   11 (String_Lang_Text_Proc)
  communities:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list, possibly newsml.org

  similar:
XML::RSS

  rationale:

After discussing the namespace on [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED], I have decided Syndication:: is the best
prefix. Other syndication modules that may turn up in the future
(SportsML, NITF, OCS, PRISM, ICE, etc) justify the need for a new
namespace, and current prefixes such as Media:: and Text:: would be
misleading and do not fully encompass the possible uses of these
modules. News:: is not appropriate either, as the current News::
modules concern Usenet news and NNTP, and XML:: is not appropriate
as this is not a generic XML handling module, is simply uses
XML::DOM to implement the document handling routines.

The module should be listed because finding it there will make
people's lives easier! :-)
