Re: xombrero crashes with "ReferenceError: Can't find variable: iom"
Seems to happen not just on OpenBSD, but also on 3.2 linux-libre kernel. Why not remove Xombrero from -current? Any thoughts? I mean, it's good, but is based on webkit, and have some bugs... maybe port Abaco will be better, I don't know.

Many scripts are insecure, and we just don't use on nowadays. Some support for Html 4.1, maybe just some support for html5, CSS and javascript (meh) is good enough. >Yea, Webkit is bulky and can be problematic, but what's the alternative? Webkit is very bloated, many bugs and, as you say, the developers seems to think that is more important add more features than make a clean and non bug code. There's many others alternatives. As I say, Abaco seems good, well done, minimalist. Xombrero have some secure intended features, block some scripts, so on, but is not so much effective. In this point, firefox have some "addons" really good, like Noscript, Adblock and some controls of cookie. >Maybe it's specific sites? Not really. When I make some research and open many tabs, Xombrero seems to consume all memory.
Re: Intra-BSD desktop environment based on Google's Material Design guidelines
At 23 Nov 2014 06:26:36 + (UTC) from openda...@hushmail.com: >expand OpenBSD's user base by tens of millions I trust fully in the administration of this project, but I fear that this kind of effort, to let the OpenBSD more mainstream, finish leaving our community similar to what would be the linux community today (I refer to some specific, do not want to generalize). I would not want to see "linuxism's" here. Honest opinion. >This way we could retire PC-BSD >conquering the Linux desktop market I think this is not really the focus of the OpenBSD Project. I believe that this project has very specific focus and not need to have the same kind of Linux user. More people implies having a community of most inexperienced users, and I do not believe that today we has support for this kind of help. It uses a doubtful language (C ++) and is working with QT and Wayland. The QT is rather bloated and Wayland requires systemd resources to run perfectly. On another hand, I believe that would be a great benefit to the OpenBSD Foundation. Regards.

The firmware blob are *not* running on the system, but on device. Why do you don't create just a script to remove these's files if you want? Why create a entire "new" system for this?
