[MlMt] Removing attachments

2014-12-17 Thread Thomas Floeren

Hi,

feeling a bit stupid to ask this, but I can’t figure out how to remove
the attachment from a mail. I didn’t find anything in the
documentation either.

Thanks in advance.

I am assuming that you are talking about a draft of a message: You will
find in the upper right hand corner of the composer window the menu
"Attachments" which allows to "Attach Files" and to "Remove
attachments".

Hope that helps.

No, that one I’ve seen.

I’m referring to received messages. When I receive a file as mail
attachment I save it to the appropriate folder on disk; I don’t want
to have duplicates in MailMate’s folder and on the server.

That is, I’m searching the correspondant to opt-shift-R in AppleMail.

Thanks

Sorry, this feature doesn't exist yet in MailMate. The only major reason
for that is that I haven't implemented it yet. You can track progress on
such a feature in tickets
[260](http://freron.lighthouseapp.com/projects/58672/tickets/513) and

[MlMt] auto-update

2014-12-17 Thread Jean-Pierre Gattuso
I leave running in the background on my office computer when I am away
in order to let SpamSieve eliminate spam messages so that they are not
shown on my iPhone. I am using the 64-bit beta version. Recently, a
message invited to update it. I was not in the office to handle the
update and messages were no longer dowloaded, hence not sorted by
SpamSieve and my iOS inbox was full of spam. Would it be possible to
continue downloading messages even when update alerts are waiting for
action?

Cheers,
Jean-Pierre

OK, thank you.

In ticket 260 you say…

It is a non-trivial feature, in other words, don't expect it soon.

So please allow me to propose a (probably more trivial) feature:

My workflow requires that I save all project-related mails into the
project folder on disk, once a project is finished. After that I delete
these mails in the mail client. That is, the above mentioned shortcoming
(duplicates in the mail client and on the server) is tolerable because
it’s only temporary, as long as the project is still in work.

The real problem here is, when I save the mails (still with their
attachments) with my project I’ll effectively have a lot of files
twice in the project archive. It’s a long-term archive, i.e this kind
of bloat is not desired.

The *perfect* solution would be the possibility to save the mails
without attachment. For example, option-dragging the mail to a Finder
folder saves it without any attachments. Or a menu command “Save
without attachments…”.

For me this sounds a lot easier to implement, since the mail inside
MailMate will remain untouched (= no need to re-upload any mails to the
server).

What do you think?

[MlMt] Strange behavior of saved mails

2014-12-17 Thread Thomas Floeren

Hi,

I noticed some strange behaviour with saved mails:

1. Drag a mail to the Finder
2. Double-click the saved mail in the Finder (MM has to be associated
with .eml)

--> *The message opens in MM, as expected*.

But…

1. Drag a mail to the Finder
2. Delete the original mail in MM (= delete it from *Deleted Messages*,
too)
3. Double-click the saved mail in the Finder (MM has to be associated
with .eml)
--> *MM opens a New Message window with the saved mail attached.* ***Not
expected.***

and furthermore…

4. Close the new message
--> it will be saved as draft
5. Double-click the saved mail in the Finder
--> *MM comes to the foreground, but nothing happens (neither the draft
nor the saved eml is opened).* ***Not expected.***

I’m using the 64bit version.

Best

[MlMt] Behavior when mail opens via menu extra counters

2014-12-17 Thread Mike Brasch

Moin Moin!

If I open a mail via a menu extra counter (same with notification/growl
banners) the mail view has the focus. But IMHO the message list should
have the focus. The current behavior needs three SHIFT+TABs for me to go
to the message list (I'm using the Correspondence Arc layout).

Maybe you could make it a optionally behavior.

[MlMt] ToDOist integration?

2014-12-17 Thread Michael Sale
In a tweet you mention that there's a Todoist integration script for
MailMate, but it requires a login I (and apparently others) do not have...
can you (or whoever it was that created it) share an accessible version
here?

Thanks,

Have you enabled email support in Todo'ist? I forward off emails to my
'todo' account, then sort/filter tasks in the Todo'ist client.

Works well for me.

I cannot forward email externally. This is not something I can change and
no amount of "that's so stupid" will change it.

I need to copy the mail from MailMate to Todoist locally.

I should probably just change it to not changing the existing focus.
Noted.

Thank you! Confirmed to work. As of yet I cannot identify how summary and

The “Summary” variant adds a note to the task. This is only
supported by the paid variant of Todoist, but in my testing it also
worked for the free variant (when adding a note using the Todoist API).
