Braillex el does not detect.

2024-03-12 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I have a braillex el 40 c here which won’t detect in VoiceOver.
It seems to have power as I can read the name and revision of the display.
But VoiceOver won’t detect it.
Its connected to the usb port so it has no bluetooth.
Its also driven by the usb port so I am not sure what is going on.
I wonder if it can be that I have an m1 Mac but that should not be the case.
Bless.
/A

I would suggest testing it with a different device and operating system.
Have you checked that it's on Apple's list of supported displays?

Sorry, I think I mis-spoke myself! It was an issue with the Apple Card.
Sorry, I just said it wrong. Anyway I still recommend both. But I also

Re: Anyone else using Apple Pay or an Apple Card?

2024-03-12 Thread Brad Snyder
I have learned that whenever a transaction is declined on my Apple Card, all I
need to do is open the Wallet app, and go to my Apple Card, and then submit the
transaction again, and it goes through with no problem.

Do that only if you are selecting multiple items that are not in order. Use
shift to highlight the items if they are in order. Don’t use noncontiguous

Re: Anyone else using Apple Pay or an Apple Card?

2024-03-12 Thread Brad Snyder
ApplePay can be setup using any card, not just an Apple Card.
I have both my Chase VISA and Apple Card, as well as my Chase Debit card setup
with ApplePay, and all can be accessed on either my watch or iPhone.

 wrote:

I feel the need to explain this a little better. It is not my intention at all
to trash the Apple Card. I still use it frequently and have put some major
purchases on it. It is easy to set up and use. I feel confident that I always
know exactly what is going on and that I have a lot of control, something I
have not always felt when dealing with credit cards. I still recommend the
Apple Card for VoiceOver users. It is amazingly easy.

But I had the misfortunate to make an ill-advised transaction on a site that
turned out to be fraudulent. I was tired and in a hurry and did not use good
judgment, which is a major way that scams and fraud happen. I tried to use two
credit cards because I thought I just didn’t have the right number for one of
them. This is why I am comparing the two cards, Chase and Apple, because both
frauds happened at the same time. Both companies were extremely courteous and
professional when I spoke with them. And ultimately, I did not lose any money,
so I feel confident that I can use cards from both these companies. The Apple
Card in particularly sent me a notification that there was a charge, and when I
looked it was a charge I had not made. The only difference was that Chase
never allowed the fraudulent charge in the first place, while I actually had to
contest the charges with Apple. This took a couple of weeks and was resolved
quickly and painlessly. I am still happy with my Apple Card. But I do think
it is relevant that their fraud protection was not quite as responsive. So I
guess what I am saying is that if you think you might have been defrauded for
any reason, pay attention to those notifications and take the time to go into
the Wallet app and look around. If it does happen, you will not wind up losing
the money. They are very professional about it. But Apple Pay and the Apple
Card are the easiest and most accessible ways to pay for anything that I can
think of.

I hope this clears it up.
