RE: amadeus pro: fastest method for reading current time

Do you learn how to use Garage band on the I phone and Mac? I’ve always wanted
to do this and podcasts are better for me along with tutorials as I learn much
quicker doing things this way.

Thank you.

So CMD + g might be the better choice.

Anyone know where the timeline is located in the amadeus pro interface?

Hi When the Airpod Max enter the deep sleep mode you know longer see the
battery indicator. It could also mean they are dead, but if it has been over
night and they are in the case more than likely this is what happened. To check
open the case and press the ANC button.

A Question About a Possible Voiceover Utility Setting

2021-04-05 Thread Mary-Jo Lord
Hi,

I have frequently struggled with editing on the Mac. Part of my
struggle is that I use windows for my job and for editing that I do
for my writing group. As a result, when I attempt to edit on the Mac,
I find myself confused as to where the cursor needs to be when I
delete or add characters or words. I’ve listened to several tutorials
and can’t seem to get it right.

Over the weekend on his podcast, Jonathan Mohsen Mentioned that there
is a setting that allows Voiceover to mimic the way that windows
screen readers handle the placement of the cursor. I have looked
through the Voiceover utility and did not find a checkbox to make this
possible.

I did a search on Google and found this sentence in an old article by
the NFB. “If
you want a more Windows-like feel to Voiceover, you can now choose to
have it speak only what is to the right of the Voiceover cursor when
editing. This
is configurable within the VO control panel.” Is this still possible
and where would I find this setting? I’m running Catalina.

Thank you in advance for any help that anybody has to offer.

Mary-Jo

Bootable Bigsur Backup?

2021-04-05 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
Have any listers successfully created a Bigsure bootable backup on an external
disk for a 2018 iMac? I used SuperDuper for this for many years on prior Mac/OS
releases which have rescued my system on several occasions but this no longer
works on Bigsur. I have looked at the Carbon Copy Cloner web site but this also
does not seem to easily fix this problem. It seems that I have to first install
Bigsur on my backup disk so that I can boot from it, but I am then unclear on
whether I can then use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to add my latest user
data to this external disk say every month or so. The problem seems to be that
Apple do not offer an interface for these products to copy the now protected
files to allow booting to an external disk.
Many thanks for any tips … Paul Hopewell

Re: A Question About a Possible Voiceover Utility Setting

2021-04-05 Thread Brett Lewis
Hi,
I think it is under verbosity/text. You can change the announcement of
text to be the character to the right of the caret.
Sadly I have found this to be unreliable. That is, it works some times and
other times it announces the wrong character.
I found it too flakey to use anything but the default.
YMMV.

Telegram messenger

2021-04-05 Thread 'Catherine Turner' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Is anyone using telegram messenger? I've got it on my iphone but have
trouble with it. If I try and search for a user the screen seems to
go blank/VO won't read anything on the screen other than the cancel
button. Also I did join a group a while ago which I expect has had
plenty of messages in it but I've not been notified of them. So I
thought I'd look in settings and tapped notifications but nothing on
the screen seems to change after I tap notifications.

Is anyone getting on ok with this app and what platform are you using it on?

Thanks,
Catherine

Hi When the Airpod Max enter the deep sleep mode you know longer see the
battery indicator. It could also mean they are dead, but if it has been over
night and they are in the case more than likely this is what happened. To check
open the case and press the ANC button.

Reading By Words The Last Spoken Utterance By VoiceOver?

2021-04-05 Thread Fazil
Hi, Group.

Sometimes, especially in a dialog box, I am unable to understand the option
spoken by VoiceOver, can I read this spoken sentence by words? I am not sure
whether this spoken utterance is displayed on the screen. I would like to
how it can be done if the last spoken utterance can be read by
character/word.

Thanks!

RE: AirPods Max question.

2021-04-05 Thread josephlhodge
The ANC button is the long button that isn't the digital crown. With your
headphones off and in the case it acts as a wake up to report the battery
status on the Iphone. Much like if you were to open the lid on the Airpods pro.

I also much prefer the default setting of having VoiceOver speak the character
that VoiceOver passes over.
I think this is a big advantage to using VoiceOver on a Mac, versus it’s
Windows counterparts. I find this to be much less confusing than the JAWS/NVDA
standard of speaking the character to the right of the cursor.
I really wish this option existed in JAWS/NVDA and even narrator.

I found it too flakey to use anything but the default.
YMMV.

Hi,

delete or add characters or words.

Subject: Bootable Bigsur Backup?

Hello,
Have any listers successfully created a Bigsure bootable backup on an external
disk for a 2018 iMac?

The only problem with a client like this is that it doesn't work with private
