Re: Accessibility issues inside the amazon application
Problem is that the captcha malfunction has even happened inside the amazon app itself (tried today after getting account services to release the security lockout on my account, only to face the captcha and then run into the “non-existent” page issue when I tried for the audio alternative. I had the same experience Karen describes. I called them to report that books don't display properly in the Kindle app on IOS. It's like all the formatting stripped, and the text reads in one giant line with no paragraphs or chapter headings or anything. The tech support person was very nice, and said he would submit it as a feature request, but nothing has changed. I noticed that the IOS app has changed again. It was OK last time why change it? So far I haven’t had the capture. If I do I’ll be annoyed as you can’t gett anyone on the phone unless they are introducing that again although I’m in the UK. Re: Accessibility issues inside the amazon application
Donna, Is this a new issue? granted I have never used Kindle in any form, but that sort of display situation seems well loopy. Do not many students use the app for textbooks? makes me wonder if Apple might be the better place to complain. granted I may be incorrect but does not a company have to get Apple's okay before they can state their program works on Ios or even the mac? If so, given Apple's accessibility commitment, can they refuse such a designation if the application does not work well from an access standpoint? Re: Accessibility issues inside the amazon application
Nice thought, Karen, but Apple would never refuse them that designation. Nor should they. Unfortunately, Kindle sometimes has books that iBooks doesn’t have, so I would hate for those books to be unavailable. The guy at Amazon told me that this is not an issue on Kindle devices, only in the IOS app. We’ll see, but I figure the likelihood of them ever fixing it is pretty close to zero. Connecting Alexa Ecco Dott to your Mac
Hi. Please could someone tell me how to connect Alexa Ecco Dot to your Mac so you can play stuff from the Mac on it like your music as I don’t want or need Music subscriptions. I did open Bluetooth preferences on my Mac. Or do you ask Alexa to connect to my I Mac? If so, what do you say? Thanks. Re: Connecting Alexa Ecco Dott to your Mac
Hi, I believe this is what I did. Go to your Mac’s bluetooth preference pain and make sure bluetooth is turned on. Have Boiceover’s focus inside the table of devices you have previously connected to. Then, ask Alexa to pair to a new device. Start arrowing up and down inside that bluetooth table. Echo should show up soon, then enter or VO-space on it to connect. After this you can adjust some settings, like the volume of the external device, or if you want your system settings to come through your Mac or the Echo. I set the volume to 100%, but this is separate from Echo’s volume from 1-10. I had to set it to 100% to hear. My Echo was only on volume 3.
