Hi donna,

No sorry my speak screen is already off.

Guess for me it’s something else.

Simon and Kawal,

Paul's suggestion to turn off Speak Screen fixed the problem for me. Here is
the text from his message again:
Can you see if you have Speak Screen enabled?
This can be found under Settings, Accessibility, spoken content, Speak screen.
If it is enabled, disable it and let us know if that helps any.
Best,
Donna

Hi all,

One thing I really hate about Messages in IOS 13 is that even after selecting
and opening a message thread, all your other message threads are still
displayed on the screen. That makes the screen so cluttered that often I'm
unable to find the text field for the thread to which I'm trying to respond.
Does anyone know if there's a setting that can be adjusted so that when you
open a thread, that's the only thread on the screen? I've looked, but haven't
found one.
Cheers,
Donna

Question regarding VoiceOver hotspots

2020-03-18 Thread Paul Parravano
Hello,

I just began using Catalina and am finding a problem with VoiceOver hotspots. I
use a hotspot in Apple Mail to quickly get to the search field. I can save the
hotspot to the zero key, used with the VO key, but the hotspot is not saved.
When I leave mail or shut down my Mac, the hotspot goes away. I tried this in
Safari and did not have the same problem. Never had this issue in prior MacOS
versions.

Any suggestions on how to save this permanently would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Paul

Hard Drive Buffering

2020-03-18 Thread 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries
My iTunes library is on an external drive. Suppose that instead of
the wi-fi, it is the drive? Is there a way to test this out and see? If
I can get my hands on an extender I could see if that helps or not, but
have not found one yet.

2020-03-18 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

On an internal network, this really shouldn't be an issue. Are you still using
an Apple TV 3? If so, that might be part of the issue. My son still uses an
Apple TV 3 as well and finds that his media loads rather slowly compared to my
Apple TV 4 HD. It may have to do with processing speed within the devices.

I should set some time aside to work this out.

Re: Question regarding VoiceOver hotspots

2020-03-18 Thread Jonathan Cohn
You do realize, I hope, that almost all search fields on the Macintosh are
reachable via either command-f or command-Option-F. command-F can be used to
search a mail message for content, and command-option-F puts you in the mailbox
search field. And of course there is also the Voiceover search abilities but
that won’t help you find a message from E. F. Hutton.

Hi,

I just used Meet today. With all our schools closed, I had to do things
differently. I did use headphones, so can tell you how it would have been
without. I used headphones to minimize noise, not for any other reason. I'll
try to remember to try it without headphones next time and update you.
