RE: new i watch

2016-09-06 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi,

To set up your watch,

Firstly find the watch app on your iPhone
Secondly you will if you’re a voiceover user need to start up voiceover

To start up voiceover on the watch you will need to press the digital crown
(that windy thing) in 3 times.

One two three,
If the watch is not powered on then press the small flatter button beside the
digital crown and hold it in for approx. 2 seconds.

Then do the triple press of the digitl crown to enable voiceover,

Then in the watch app follow the prompts on the screan and of course what is
coming up on the watch face.

The watch app on the phone and the watch give you all the instructions and
carry out the difficult work.

Hope that helps you somewhat.

Cheers,

Simon f

Re: Replacing a local copy of a song in iTunes with the iCloud match?

2016-09-06 Thread Larry Thacker Jr.
Thanks. I’m sure there’s an app for that if someone really wants to. I
dabbled with music sharing when it first hit the Internet but decided both for
reasons of ethics and convenience not to continue using those programs. I
think I have since replaced the few tracks I got that way with legit versions.
Sounds like it would be worth my time to subscribe for at least a year. I’ve
also been reluctant because of the less than optimal way iTunes handles music
on Windows, but now having converted to the Mac and understanding a little
better how it works I may go for it.

Re: Some interesting rumours regarding 3.5 mm jack issue on the iPhone seven

2016-09-06 Thread Scott Granados
Mary, for some reason the 5220 is over $50 cheaper than amazon in Best Buy
stores. Haven’t checked their web but in the store it self they were at a
deeper discount than you can get them online. Also make sure you are looking
at the right one. There’s a UC model for communications systems that I think
includes a dongle. You just want the base model. (non UC)

Not sure if that helps.

2016-09-06 Thread Scott Granados
I have several 308’s (these would be 7.62 MM for our NATO friends). it’s an
awful big round for a bunny rabbit. I think for a bunny either a 5 MM rim
fired varmint round would be good or an air rifle. I have a .177 air rifle
that is a rabbit / squirrel hunting machine. I bought my father one to protect
his garden since he lives close to neighbors and a fire arm outside wouldn’t be
appropriate that close to the houses. The bob cat behind his property has been
filling up on fresh squirrel though from the garden protection effort.
A 308 is much better suited for hunting things like deer, bear and
Insurgent Taliban.

Not sure about Springfield, I’m more of a Remington auto loader or Sig Saur fan
myself. Sig Saur makes the best version of the M16 in my opinion and has the
highest rated 223 and 308 hunting rifles right now and has some fantastic AR
models.

Henry Repeating is another good one.

My command Key sometimes does not work

2016-09-06 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hello all:

sometimes, my command key stop working, I can not perform command C,
command V etc, don't know why, the only way is to make a restart, to
fix this.
also, the finder sometimes has no windows, I must go to dock they go
back to finder to find my files etc.
is there a fix for these 2 issues?
Thanks

Possible the key is getting tired. Or dirty under the key. Not sure
of the Apple store can do this kind of maintenance.

The same VO f2 f2 will bring up a menu and you can choose which
window you want to bring to the front.

Let me clarify the VO commands as they are useful.

   Open Application Chooser with VO-F1-F1.

   Open Window Chooser with VO-F2-F2.

There may be other methods but I haven't yet settled on how I want
to handle multiple Finder windows.

I could make a joke about watching to much porn and sticky keys but with the
thin skinned nature of some on this list I’ll leave that one alone.

If it is shmutz (dirt or dust) under the key you should try some of that
compressed air in a can. It really does work well for cleaning junk out of
keyboards.

Re: My command Key sometimes does not work

2016-09-06 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Actually, the cmd-option-v requires the Copy (cmd-c) action first. So, on the
Mac, you cannot use the Cut command on file actions, you'd need to use the
Copy, then the Move (cmd-option-v) command as opposed to the Copy and Paste
command.

Hi Mary, it's an attempt to solve the problem in that the Griffin device
has a 3.5mm jack. But you then pair the device to your iPhone using
Bluetooth 4.1. So depending on the Bluetooth stack in the iPhone 7, we
could hit the latency issues that we all know about with VO and BT devices.
If the Bluetooth stack is significantly improved, it could be a
work-around of sorts, although of course you've then got yourself in the
position where you have to remember to keep your 3.5 jack charged, which
hardly represents progress. For people who keep VO talking for long
periods, time between charges may not be that long.

Re: Some interesting rumours regarding 3.5 mm jack issue on the iPhone seven

2016-09-06 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
Yes i am sure there are.
And it makes me very tired to see people feel offended because of something
that hasn’t happend yet.
I have also a hearing impairment, though a very small one and i can’t see any
problems with the removal of the 3.5 mm jack.
If i can plug headphones directly into the lightning jack this would make the
audio so clean so i can use a lower volume to listen as i don’t have to listen
to a lot of muffled noice.

Kawal,
Thanks, good to know that. I looked at the specs for the Basic D v4

but it does not offer Bluetooth or wifi. I suppose I could live with

Re: Duxbury for Mac and Embossers

2016-09-06 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
I was thinking about looking at it comparing it with windows but I need a
little time to do that on my next few days off. In the mean time if someone
does look at it, a good comparison between the two would be great. I notified
the Access Technology guys in the organisation about it so one never knows,
someone may test it.

If I get to look at it as I will at some point, I’ll report back.

I hear the V4 Embossers don’t need drivers, you just plug the thing in to your
Mac and away you go embossing.

Tomorrow at work if I get the chance I’ll look at the Duxbury website and if
it’s easy to get the software I’ll download it at home some time and have a
play.

If you get it first Mr ET, feel free to report back even if you are sitting
alone on the universe.

2016-09-06 Thread E.T.

Anders,
Just curious. Is the translation error free? What format of document
files work well? My needs are pretty simple so if the Index does a good
job of translating, it will be worth a good look.

I do not recall what model you have. The Index Basic D v5 interests
me though it does not support wide paper.

lables compatible in pages?

2016-09-06 Thread zoe fiogkos
Hi guys when I was using windows exclusively and had a bit of sight, I had
bought blank shipping lables from a store called staples here in Toronto. I
use to use zoomtext and the screen was magnified and I use to fill out the
lables and print.
That box had 200 sheets of lables. Now I'm in a situation where I want to
use these lables to lable jars of homemade jam. Can I use these lables on
the mac? If yes are they accessible to fill out in pages with voiceover?
Again if yes where do I go to find the lable number in pages?
So in word you would go to the mailings tab and choose lable and from there
you would choose the number on the box avery 5163 and then a page would pop
up with the grid I would fill out the lables and print.
Any help please?
Regards
Zoe

is fairly convoluted and I can't tell you the steps this point i'm not sure

One two three,

If the watch is not powered on then press the small flatter button beside the

Then do the triple press of the digitl crown to enable voiceover,

RE: Some interesting rumours regarding 3.5 mm jack issue on the iPhone seven

2016-09-06 Thread Simon Fogarty
So Scott,

Has this taken over as the top of the Plantronics BT Headsets?

I’m thinking of mone that will allow me to do both UC and standard BT
communications.

Well nuts. I just saw one Amazon wants for that headset, and it is expensive!
By the way, the protocol or whenever you want to call it that I have been
talking about isaptx. It's an alternative compression method. I just found an
article that's two years old, which is why am not bothering to link it. I'm
sure there must be more advanced more current articles that will tell more
about it and whether it's worth anything. But back to that 5220 headset. I
sought on Amazon for a whopping $180. I don't think so. I would love to have
something with the characteristics you described. But the price needs to come
down a bit.

I would be interested in the review. Of course, being slow to adopt a new
headset when my old one actually still work, I just recently purchased the
legend, which I do like. But it does have the lag. On the other hand, it lasted
forever on the road trip, and with a little box that you put it in, it
recharges and you just keep going and going like the energizer bunny. Anyway,
no lag is a good thing. So I for one am interested in the review.
