I have one hell of a lag with my plantronix edge and ios 10 on my S+
The device pairs quickly enough but the audio through takes a hell of a long
time if comes through at all.

I can confirm with the iPhone 6s+ running IOS beta 10 the lag is almost non
existent when paired with the new Plantronics 5220. I’m not sure if it’s the
phone or the headset taking the difference but the combination is pretty snappy.

Hi Mary, it's an attempt to solve the problem in that the Griffin device has a

depending on the Bluetooth stack in the iPhone 7, we could hit the latency

If the Bluetooth stack is significantly improved, it could be a work-around of

have to remember to keep your 3.5 jack charged, which hardly represents
progress. For people who keep VO talking for long periods, time between charges

I would be interested in the review. Of course, being slow to adopt a new
headset when my old one actually still work, I just recently purchased the
legend, which I do like. But it does have the lag. On the other hand, it lasted
forever on the road trip, and with a little box that you put it in, it
recharges and you just keep going and going like the energizer bunny. Anyway,
no lag is a good thing. So I for one am interested in the review.

Two real real quick questions about braille

2016-09-05 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Guys, I'm not sure really where to ask this question, so hopefully someone real
quick can answer this for me, as I'm a little stuck, and surely we have better
braille readers on here than myself.

When writing contracted grade 2, not U E B, mind you, I'm speaking just of
grade 2 in general, I have a situation where I'm trying to write an individual
letter that I don't want to be confused as a contraction. I know about dot 5
6, for my letter sign, then the letter, but the letter needs to be capitalized.
So... do I put the dot 6 capital sign, then? the letter sign, or other way
around, letter sign, then! cap sign? What order is proper, or does it really
matter?

My final second question is, I want to write the word "CPanel." Cap C, all
rest lower case: p A n e l. I don't want the C being translated as the word
"can." Being it's cap and all else lowercase, my braille notetaker seems to be
doing it as "CanPanel. Whoops? I don't want a space between the C and the
panel though. So, do I just do a letter sign before the C, then as the same
word, panel?

Sorry, I know this really is outta the scope of this list, but at this point,
I'm desperet. I asked on Twitter, and on Facebook, but no one seems to be
responding, and it's now been about 3 days since I asked, so, forgive me.

Chris.

Re: Two real real quick questions about braille

2016-09-05 Thread Blee Blat
First question is that the letter sign goes before the capital sign. For the
second one I believe you'd just put dot 6 before the c and another dot 6 before
the p because you've only got 2 letters that need capitalized but I can check
the rule book to be sure once I remember where I put it.

Re: Two real real quick questions about braille

2016-09-05 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello Chris.

I assume you are writing Grade 2 American Braille and not UEB?

Well although I’m not an American Braille user but am of UEB, but know how
American Braille works for your situation, I will confirm the following to you.
You had the answers right but you do indeed put Letter Sign first and then dot
six for the initial cap.

But for the other thing where you want part of the word translated, please do
the following:

Letter sign, dot 6 C then the word panel in lower case.

Re: Replacing a local copy of a song in iTunes with the iCloud match?

2016-09-05 Thread David Griffith
There is no DRM involved with iTunes Match but there is a signature
where basically your Apple ID is inserted into the Extended Tag
properties of each file file you download using Match.

This extended tag willl have a lable of ITUNESACCOUNT followed by your
Apple ID without any spaces. This means that any Match Music you share
with others could theoretically be sourced back to you as the originator
and presumably there is a risk you may face consequences if this music
is shared. Amazon do something similar but do not bother using extended
tag properties but just the normal comments sections of tagged music
files the last time I looked.

I do not know of any way of displaying the Extended Tag properties of a
m4a file using a Mac, though normal tag properties are easily visible.
However if you use the free Mp3Tag utility under windows in boot camp
or Fusion and invoke the extended tag view you will easily be able to
find what I am talking about.

the downloaded copies that would force me to keep Match from then on?

Hi all,

I have some songs that I imported from CDs, and I'd like to replace
them with the matched versions. You used to be able to do this by
interacting with the place where it said download/local, but that
doesn't seem to be an option in the current version of iTunes.
Anyone know how to do this in the current version?

TIA,
Donna

Thank you all for your answers. Looks like a few people have written.

I see no reason for anyone else to respond at this point. The answers I've
gotten thus far are sufficient. Thank you for you all's help.

Now, back to the mac! No pun intended. LOL!

Chris.

Apple mail issue

2016-09-05 Thread denise avant
Hello all,
I am using apple mail on my mac. And have the latest operating system. I have
three separate e-mail accounts. None of them are appearing in the list of
e-mail boxes. I don’t know why they disappeared. this just happened today. I
can still read the e-mail by going to the main inbox, but my separate e-mail
boxes have disappeared. Can anyone provide assistance.
Thank you.

Hello,

Have you by mistake collapsed your inbox? Place Vo on Inbox and press right
arrow key which hopefully will reveal your individual accounts. I've had a
similar experience and it took me some time to realise what had happened.

Best wishes
