How to find podcasts in Itunes 11
Hi All, I was wondering, does anyone know how I can find my podcasts in Itunes 11? I used to have the sources table with the podcasts right there. But now, no matter whic option I click I can't seem to find it. Any thoughts? Thank you to Max for suggesting David Woodbridge's podcast on Applevis. It was very helpful. I found some new features in Itunes 11. Thank you for any help you can provide. RE: How to find podcasts in Itunes 11
First of all, I'm going to assume you're speaking about iTunes on the Mac, as the Windows version is different than this: There is now a pop-up menu which takes the place of the sources table, and it's located between the search field and a button which says "iCloud", if you're in your library. It may not even tell you it's a pop-up-it may just say "music button", but it is indeed a menu, so Vo-space on it and it will open a table list where all your media types will be shown. I suggest you make sure you've downloaded the latest update, which came out yesterday, as they have fixed some things with the way podcasts are handled and the update is worth it. Hope this helps. Re: creating smart playlists with the new iTunes.
Ok, now it looks like we're both confused. What I used to do, was name the playlist, then copy and paste what I wanted from my music source over to the list, then burn it to disk, but now when I tab to what used to be the area where the table was, it shows it there, but won't let me paste anything there. I somehow was able to at one point yesterday, but it was a fluke, and have no idea how I was able to and/or where I was when I did it, so can't go back there again at this point which is frustrating, sense what I'm trying to burn seems to only be in my library and not on my drive, so need to back it up. Re: verify backups function in time machine with voiceover
Hi, You'll need to have QuickNav on in order to only use arrow keys when in the Status menu widgets. Another method you could use is to get to the Time Machine menu with VO, press VO-cmd-f5 to bring the mouse and the VO cursor together, then hold down only the Option key while pressing down the Trackpad as a sighted user would do. This will bring up the Verification options you're mentioning. One thing to note, though, is that this Verification process usually happens when Time Machine begins its backup process each hour anyway so it will usually let you know if there are any problems. Re: adding movies with the new iTunes?
Hi Clifton, When in iTunes, press the iPhone button, press the Music or Movies tab depending on which you wish to add, navigate right to the Scroll area and Interact with it and then make sure the Sync Movies or Sync Music checkbox is checked. When in each of those areas you will find a Grid or Table where you can check individual items, playlists or whatever you wish synced to your iPhone. After you've set these to your desired items, simply Apply the changes or Sync your iPhone and it will copy things over. Depending on how large and how many items you chose to copy over will determine how long the copy process will take. HTH. Later... Re: creating smart playlists with the new iTunes.
Hi, First, we need to distinguish between Smart and regular playlists. In your original post, you questioned about copying to a Smart Playlist. This is just not possible in any version of iTunes. A Smart Playlist is populated using matching criteria and thus items are placed in the Smart Playlist automatically when the criteria is met. a regular Playlist can still be populated using the copy and paste method you're used to. Simply make your way through the Songs list selecting all the items you wish in the playlist, then press cmd-c to Copy these selections. If you are creating a brand new Playlist, press cmd-n to create it, type a name for it then navigate to the area where VO reads something about "Drag items here to add them to the Playlist". In subsequent times or if the playlist already exists, simply navigate over to the playlist table, Interact with it and then paste your selection into the list of playlist contents. I tested this in the newest version of iTunes and it worked as I've outlined here. If you still have problems, let us know. Later... Re: creating smart playlists with the new iTunes.
Well, I always chose the "new smart playlist," option, in order to burn items to disk, which I would've asumed would be the same thing, which took me through a lot of those same steps, and before I upgraded, it let me do all those same things, then when I inserted a blank disk, it allowed me, of course, to burn the playlist to the CD. However, now it's choosing not to even let me do this now, but I've noticed on both ends, that when I created the thing, after I've named it it shows up as "playlist," which I thought nothing of, but now I'm really confused here, so have no idea what to do anymore. Re: creating smart playlists with the new iTunes.
Hi, So, if you wish to use the Copy/Paste method to populate your Playlist, then when you create the new playlist, simply press cmd-n to do this, then copy and paste your items into it. Do not use any of the Smart Playlists that you've created. You can tell whether a playlist is Smart or regular by pressing VO-shift-m on the playlist name, if it is a Smart Playlist, then it will give you the option to Edit the Smart Playlist otherwise that option will not appear. Again, though, you cannot paste items into a Smart Playlist as it is generated by matching criteria that you can set within the Edit Smart Playlist option. The point is here, that whether or not you believe that you were able to use that method in the past, you are no longer able to do so. Thus, you can either use the Copy/Paste method or the contextual menu of "Add to Playlist" to add items to existing non-Smart Playlists. The only difference now, is that when you create the playlist, do not create it as a Smart Playlist otherwise you won't be able to use the method that you are accustomed to. Later... Hi there! OK you can also add to a named playlist by opening VO+shift+m then arrow to add to playlist sub menu and when you find the name of the playlist you wish to add to just VO+space or I think Enter! And the track will go into that list! Hi Max. Yes, it's very possible. Download the remote application made by apple. It will prompt you to type in a code on the amc and then you can control the mac with your phone with iTunes. I use this quite frequently, it works like a charm. THanks. Chris On Dec 15, 2012, at 12:52 PM, Agent086b wrote: > Hello all, I have been told that it is possible to control iTunes from an > iPhone. Hi, Does anyone know how to go back to a previous word in spellcheck in Mail or Pages? I have noticed if I accidentally tell the spell check to accept a word I didn't intend, or to ignore a word I later want to change, I find no way to go back and correct it. Re: Contacting the Netflix team regarding accessibility, I am so excited
Just to offer another option, one does not have to purchase a new TV to be able to use the Apple TV. One can simply purchase an HDMI to standard video convertor. It is a small box which contains an HDMI input and RCA type output jacks and last I checked, sold for somewhere in the $60 range. Certainly less expensive than buying a new TV. It's also useful if you are playing music through your computer, but are not right at the keyboard, or maybe you're in another application and it's just more convenient to hit "next" on your phone or iPod than to switch out of what you are doing to change the song or select a new playlist. Well I've got it to work with the help from the list. Only problem I can't control iTunes from my shed. I will have to think of some way of boosting the signal. Great from the rest of the house. Max. Re: Contacting the Netflix team regarding accessibility, I am so excited
How do those work, and what exactly are they? I unfortunately don't know much about things of that nature so would love some more info. Someone recommended the device that Apple sells to go along with it, which I can't remember the name of, which apparently has really good sound quality, which I want, but either which way, the Apple Tv in general, no matter what I purchase to go along with it is a ways down the road sense I can't afford it right now. Getting the scroll area back to sync all ring tones instead of selected ring tones in iTunes 11
Hi everyone. In iTunes 10, I was able to find the scroll area for my iPhone, and there was a checkbox that says sink only selected ring tones. However, an iTunes 11, that scroll area is gone. Is there a way to get the scroll area back? I have new ring tones I want to sync to my phone, and I can't do this at the moment. Thanks.
