That was the huge thing for fusion going from version 4 to 5. Windows 8 support, and a few other things. I have no desire to upgrade as 7 does me just fine. Re: How to skip forward in Amadeus Pro?
Hi Mike, Usually, if I want to skip through a very long file in large increments, I stop playback, use the right arrow to move to where I want to be, then press Shift-Space to hear where I am. The amount you move with each press of the arrow is dependent on the zoom setting, which seems to be adjusted according to the length of the file you open. I normally set mine to 100%, find the spot closest to where I want to start editing, then decrease the value to move by smaller amounts until I find the exact place to perform edits. Hope this helps. I use VLC. It has a lot of unlabeled buttons, but they are all tagged with help text so vo will say what they do if you have it set to speak help text. If not, press vo-shift-h on a button to hear its help tag, then label it appropriately. Once labeled, this program does a fine job at handling media. Lost brightness on screen

Re: Lost brightness on screen
As Mark said, you probably have it set so you need the function key to be pressed to issue commands involving the f keys. You can change this in keyboard preferences so that the f keys will perform their special tasks (brightness volume, all that) either only when the function key is pressed, or only when it is not. If it were me, I'd set things so the function key is needed to envoke the special commands, so I would not need to press it when issuing vo or system commands. Hi Teresa Thanks for the information, and I'm a try to do what you said about resetting some things in Safari later. When I called up the file I just saved, the link then didn't ask about frames. It then asked about what you said, about downloading files. When it saved out the file this time. it was saved with a .brf.txt extension. It took off the .txt part, and it works fine in TextEdit now. I forgot to say that I saved the first file I mentioned when it talked about frames in downloads so I should be able, even if I have to change the extensions to save the other files.
