BRF files of ML manual
Hi Is it possible to download these? I went to the Apple Accessibility link posted here a while ago and only see a way to order an embossed copy or access the manual online. The Lighthouse page only seems to offer a buying option. I'd be grateful if anybody knows how to get the .brf files of these so I can read them on my notetaker while performing the actions with my Mac. I seem to learn best that way. Re: BRF files of ML manual
For some reason, activating the link doesn't seem to work. You may need to select the text and paste it into a browser. I know it seems to imply that they are pdf files, but once you download the zip and extract it, you'll find there are brf files in there. Cheers Thuy On 17/09/2012, Thuy wrote: > Hi Lisette. Any MainStage Users On This List?
Hi all, I recently came across MainStage in the app store. Apparently, it will allow me to create all sorts of on-stage setups directly from my computer. I downloaded the app, but when I go to open it, I get one of those lovely "MainStage has no windows" screens. When I asked for sighted assistance, I was told that MainStage was downloading basic content. When I next checked on it, the download had failed for no apparent reason. Either it's because I unknowingly Command-Tabbed into the MainStage window and managed to hit "Stop" or "Cancel" by mistake, or it's because of my crappy Internet connection. Does anyone know what "basic content" it's trying to download? Is there a link to said content I can use in a browser or a download manager? As a last resort, is there a way to ensure the content is downloaded in full from within MainStage itself without having to do nothing else on my computer for 12 hours? ml mail and attachments?
Hi folks, trouble shooting with a friend, so I trust I ask this clearly. I am working with someone who is outfitting a computer for another operating system, not a mac. However, they are using a macbook with mountain lion on it for our communications, including when I send him programs to install on the other computer. because macs are so efficient though each time I send him something the mac makes an effort to unzip the contents instead of just leaving the file alone. This often results in sub directories we cannot reach and the like, and since the files are not for the mac and the machine in question is not a Mac either, the kind assistance is not very helpful. is there something he can do in his mail setup that keeps the file untouched when we move it from his inbox to say the usb floppy drive he has attached to the macbook? I suspect the download area as the source for the unpacking effort, but this is just a guess. thoughts & ideas? Re: ML mail signatures
Hi Rich, Try the following. 1. Open Mail Preferences. 2. Make sure you select, signatures, from the buttons. 3. From the signatures list, choose the account to which you want the signature. 4. Navigate passed the names table and edit area to the Add New, button going right. Vo space on it. 5. You will be on an edit field to name the signature. By default, it might say, Signature #1. Just type the name of the signature you want for it. 6. Stop interacting and navigate right to the edit field. There will be default text that will have your name and email address, but you can place whatever you want there. If you ahve more than one signature for an account, you can choose a default signature from a popup button all the way to the right. Take Care John D. Re: Any MainStage Users On This List?
Gavin, I, recently, downloaded Main Stage too. I did it for the Apple Jam Packs, which are usable in Garageband as well. I ran in to some of the same problems, but eventually I got to a place where VoiceOver could tell me what was going on. Then, I spent an additional two afternoons downloading additional content. Anyway, relaunch it, leave it alone, & it should resume that download. After it is done & installs the content, you should be able to interact with it. As for your poor connection, If it continues to fail, maybe you could go to a friends with a better one? Re: ML mail signatures
In the signature pane, first copy the text of the signature to the clipboard by selectinginteracting and all with command-a and then command-c to copy it. Then, navigate to your gmail account and then to the, add new, button. Create a new signature and then just paste the text you copied into the edit field. Re: ml mail and attachments?
Here are the steps this person is using. OK, I'm on the mac and I opened gmail thru gmail. Your file is located at the bottom of the email thread With a downward facing arrow above it. If I try to drag it directly to the external floppy drive I get a message stating I cannot drag the file/attachment anywhere until it has been downloaded. When I click "download" from the message the file now shows it has been down loaded, but it still cannot me moved until I save the file somewhere I always save to my "my downloads". From there I can change the extension and open the file to see its contents. Granted I have already told him that looking at the contents may be part of theproblem, since we are just trying to move the zip archive. I might add that gmail, where his address is, will not let you send any file that appears to have program files zipped in it, so we are changing the extension to get the file things. I still think that is not the problem. Perhaps his looking at it is? Re: BRF files of ML manual
Hi Thuy and all Ok thanks so much for this link. Pressing on it does work, even though it appears not to. This is a trap for young players. Having pressed it multiple times and thinking nothing at all was happening, I finally looked in the downloads folder. There are now about 20 copies of the zip file (lol). I wish Safari would indicate that something was happening sometimes i.e. that a file had just downloaded or was starting to download. I didn't think to look in the downloads folder because pressing on the link appeared to produce no activity whatsoever. But I have the files now, and I wanted to let others know the link Thuy provided does work, even if you think it appears not to. Thanks again. Hi, A trick I have learned is to go to the dock and type "download" which will move focus to your downloads folder. Once there you will hear the progress of any file downloads. Re: ml mail and attachments?
I think looking at it is indeed the problem, as Safari downloads zip files with no trouble at all. Also, using the gMail website seems a shame since you can use imap with gMail and the mac's mail app to sync mail across all your devices and the website. I do this and can check mail on my iPod, mac, windows install (via the website), bn apex (again using the website), or anywhere I have internet access. It might be worth doing this to make life easier. Also, have you considered using a shared dropbox folder instead of emails? Hi, I will pass along the ideas to the mac user. as for a shared dropbox, actually it takes me less time, and I can send most anything via shellworld. the issue would remain as to how the mac is trying to unpack tings no matter where he drew the files from. Re: flash gone?
check if your flash player is out of date. I have heard on macs that if you are not using the latest version that the mac will disable all flash content until you update as a security measure. Re: seeing to whom an email was addressed?
I decided to take a look around the message headers on my box and I could see to whom the message was sent but I could not see the date nor could I find a way to expand the full header fields like you can in other mail clients. Is this just not available in Apple Mail or am I missing something some place? creating new users on mac?
Hi all, Today in the mail we got a 2007 Mac Mini from a friend of mine who graduated to a Macbook Air and had no use for his old machine. It runs, but I'll need to re-install Lion (that's another post). My question is this: we plan to use this as a family machine hooked up to the big screen in the living room, but all three of us have our own apple accounts. I'd like to set things up so that we each have a user account and can log into our apple ids without conflicting with each other. Two questions rise from this: 1. How would I do it? I assume it is accessible, but is there anything I should know about? 2. How can I make us all admins? I'm the only one who would do actual tech support on the mac, but I don't want to get calls about how someone can't do something because of lack of privileges. Thanks for any suggestions on this. I can't remember the last time we had multiple accounts - everyone has their own computers nowadays - and I am the only one in the house with mac experience, so this will be a first for everyone else. Re: seeing to whom an email was addressed?
I think I figured it out. I don't know why, but your message sent me into the menus. Apparently, cmd-shift-h shows all headers; interacting a couple times will get you to a text field with an abundance of information, though you must vo-arrow in it even though it is a standard text field. I saw from, to, reply-to, dates, mail servers, and so on. Re: seeing to whom an email was addressed?
That's good to know. Funny how we discover additional shortcut keys out there. I know for a fact that some of the standard apps do not always list their shortcut keys in the help documentation. That's why, when I open a new app or want to find a function, my first stop is the menu bar. Vo always announces a hotkey if one is present, so I learn them that way.
