This happen to anyone else with an Airport Extreme?
Hi. Something happened again this morning I find very baffling. I have my HP laser printer attached directly to my Extreme, and there are times when it just won't print. I opened the Airport Utility on my iPhone, and without me doing anything it started printing immediately. I would consider this a coincidence if it hadn't happened exactly like this before. Also, often I can be sitting about two feet from the Extreme with my phone and the phone shows 3g and no wireless connection. If I open the settings menu and click wireless the network shows up and lo and behold, the wireless is back. LookTel Recognizer update now out!
Hi all, there's a new update to the LookTel Recognizer now out in the iOS App Store. here's the linkie and a description for those whom might not know about it. Enjoy! Cara :) --- http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-recognizer/id501088555?mt=8&ls=1 Description LookTel Recognizer allows users with visual impairments or blindness to identify cans, packages, ID or credit cards, DVDs, and similar items. Users can store images of objects in a library or database, and then simply point the iPhone's camera at an object and the phone will recognize and describe the item instantly. A barcode scanner is also included to provide additional labeling help. LookTel Recognizer is powered by an evolution of LookTel's patented and proprietary object recognition technology featured in LookTel's "Money Reader", an app that has helped thousands of users with visual impairments or blindness to instantly identify and count bills. There's no need to hold the camera still or capture a photo and wait for a result – recognition happens instantly, and in real-time. Additionally, the app does not require an active internet connection, which means it can be used at any location, anytime. Recognizer allows users to backup and export their created databases via E-Mail, enabling them to restore a database from lost or replaced devices, share it with other members of the community. Please note that users with severe visual impairments or blindness will require sighted assistance to initially create the image library. The image library must be setup before LookTel Recognizer can be used to identify objects. Using Recognizer Once the app is downloaded on your iOS device, you must create an image library before you can start recognizing items. Creating the library is easy, and can be fun, especially if you have a friend or family member who is a shutterbug. While it may seem to take a lot of time, it takes far less than most people imagine to create an excellent library of images. Once the library exists, less and less time is required of a sighted person, as you will find Recognizer can already identify most items that are used daily reliably and accurately every time. ...More IPPLEX Web SiteLookTel Recognizer Support What's New in Version 1.1 - Faster loading of application, especially with large databases - Fixed start-up crashes due to large databases - Improved recognition database performance - Export emails now broken into 100 item segments - Bluetooth output enabled - Shake to stop audio descriptions - Barcodes recognized now pop up an alert view with a description when in VoiceOver - Added additional barcodes. - Autolock is disabled - Added sound while program is initializing. - Added an email item button to the Detail Screen - Added additional accessibility hints to buttons. - Added opt-in switch to Settings and a one-time dialog box for allowing certain types of analytics to be gathered. - Silence torch on/off alerts while capturing - Removed Library Locked option from the Settings Screen - The ring silence switch no longer silences application audio. - Updated in-app documentation. - Updated UI. --- View my Online Portfolio at: http://www.onemodelplace.com/CaraQuinn Follow me on Twitter! https://twitter.com/ModelCara -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Thank you for the suggestions. Well, I think the typing over to the phone or Touch would be cool. Especially, if I'm using a chat app I prefer, like IM+Pro. Also, if the Mac's trackpad could be a wireless controller for the iDevice, then I could control the device while it is docked on a player. Yes, I got some stuff messed up a while back and since I'm a bit of a geeky guy and occasionally live dangerously, I went and deleted the entire mail folder in ~/library. then started over and none of any previous junk was around. Re: ABBYY fine reader
Hello Kirsten, Just place yourself on the JPG file you want to convert, press VO-Shift-m to get a contextual menu, go down to Open with, go right and select ABBYY FineReader and it will do the job. Re: iPhone Question
Hi, This is true but, I think its safe to say the new iPhone will be coming out in the fall. Probably around the same time it did last year. Late september to late October. OT: Urgent! help support video description
Hello folks, Sorry if this is off-topic, but I am crossposting to as many lists as I can. Some of you might know that I work for a video description company. We're seeking a $250,000 grant from W WW.missionsmallbusiness.com.. We would like to use the grant to offer more descriptive video titles. In order to make it into the running for this grant, we need to hundred and 50 votes by tomorrow night at nine eastern. If any of you are willing and you have a Facebook account, please go to www.missionsmallbusiness.com and search for Audio Eyes. do not search by state, but rather by the company name. Then login with Facebook, and vote for us. Also, please feel free to share that you voted on your Facebook page and ask others to do the same. Normally as you know, I would not post this sort of thing, however I feel this is important for the blind community at large. We can always use more descriptive video. Thank you for your indulgence, and I apologize if anyone feels that I wasted their time. Sincerely, Chris -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com.
