Most people find Prizmo to be the best OCR app for iPhone. Here is a link to
the Prizmo guide on Applevis:

I suspect it works best on an iPhone since it has a better camera than other

Re: OCR for iPhone 4s or iPad

2012-06-11 Thread Ricardo Walker
Hi,

in the iPad 2, you basically have the same cameras found in the 4th gen iPod
touch. In the new iPad, you will find a 5mp camera on the back similar to what
is found in the iPhone 4.

Just to add to Tim's excellent post, you can reach the Spotlight search box

Today's Maccessibility Live Stream

2012-06-11 Thread Darcy Burnard
Hi everyone. Just a reminder that we'll be doing a Live Stream this afternoon
covering the Apple WWDC keynote. The keynote starts at 1 PM eastern, and we
should be starting our stream at around 12:30 PM. If you would like to listen,
you can point your media player to
http://darcy.serverroom.us:8576/listen.pls?sid=1
If you'd like to interact with the show, there are two ways for you to do that.
The best way is to use the #VoLive hash tag on twitter. However, if you don't
use twitter, you can send an email to s...@screenlessswitchers.com. If you
email, you'll need to put what you want to say in the subject line only. This
is because I won't actually be opening the messages, I'll be using boxcar on my
iPhone to get notifications of them, and all I see there are the subject lines.

Thanks for this! I really wanted to hear what was covered this year, especially

if I don't participate much. I've told myself that finances permitting, I will

2012-06-11 Thread Mark BurningHawk Baxter
Depending on how your keyboard's function keys are set--either hardware or
software functions, you can also rewind and fast forward in Itunes with F7 and
F9 respectively, held down. Please note that pressing F7 or F9 once will take
you to the beginning or end of your track respectively, so don't blame me if
you do what I do all the time and fail to hold them down, and get really irked
that you've accidentally wound up at the beginning or end, instead of rewinding
for ten or fifteen seconds. You've been warned. :)

posting a video reply on youtube

2012-06-11 Thread Maxwell Ivey
Hello; Mike has been helping me with recording a video in iMovie. as a test i
figured I'd record a video reply for one of his tutorials on youtube. I
recorded the video, trimmed off the ends, and uploaded it to my youtube
account. It shows up in my list of public youtube videos, but when i click the
video reply and go to the list of existing videos my reply won't come up in the
list. any suggestions. don't know why they have to make it so complicated.
Also, when i went back to iMovie and tried to export directly to youtube it
keeps giving me an unknown error. would ask for help for that too, but how do
you solve an unknown error? smile any help would be appreciated. Thanks, max

Apple Accessibility

Hello,
I was wondering if there is some progress about the problem described below.
IN the last version of 10.8, build 12a178q, the problem wasn't solved...
I have seen this because I am registered as a developer with the address:
william.wind...@telenet.be.
Without a solution for this bug, I see no way to import my vo-prefs in my new
macbook I should buy for 10.8.

Anny comments are welcome,
kind regards,
William Windels

Hi,
Ok, so what am I doing wrong.
I went to system preferences, selected the output tab and I saw my Logitech

Also, when in mail, I hit my delete key when wanting to delete an email, and
I hear "eject" but the emails are not gone.
Thanks.

2012-06-11 Thread Darcy Burnard
Hi. As a rule, we don't put up the archives of these live streams. The
primary reason for this is that since we're talking about stuff as soon as we
get it, some information may be inaccurate. I kind of see what we're doing as
the best we can do while the event is on.
Your best bet is to actually watch the Keynote itself. Apple should have that
available on their web site and in their podcast feed later on today.

Hi,Has anyone used vm ware fusion?

If so, what was your experience like setting it up.

I am listening to a podcast right now from mike goreego

From the blindcool tech site and its from 2008, lol, lets hope nothing has
changed sense then for the set up.

I plan on purchasing the vm ware fusion after I get a good idea of what mess
I am getting myself into smile!

FS:MINT I7 quad core Mac Book Pro...

2012-06-11 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi everybody.

I'm selling my I7 quad core Mac Book Pro. I am the original owner.
The machine is in mint condition and has not been used outside of my
smoke free home.

Mac OSX and Windows Seven Ultimate 64 bit run with no issues with a
dual boot setup. It's very stable. For general computing or as a DAW,
this is an amazing machine! You can run Sonar and/or Pro Tools as I've
done and work with large projects with multiple virtual instruments
and effects plugs without taxing her at all. It's also a very quiet
machine which is great if you're recording in a small/confined space.
It does have a Texas Instruments firewire chipset so you don't need to
worry about the headaches that can come up due to a non TI fw chipset.
If you don't have a firewire 800 interface, you can use a firewire 400
interface via a cheap adaptor. I've done that and it works fine.

Specs include uniBody aluminum case, glass touch pad, 15.4 inch
display, Intel I7 2gHz quad core processor, (has four cores), 4 gigs
of ddr3 ram, 500 gig hard drive, dual layer dvd burner, hd web cam,
microphone, stereo speakers, two USB 2.0 ports, firewire 800 port,
thunderbolt port, ethernet, bluetooth, airport wireless, multi format
digital card reader, line in/microphone jack, headphohne jack, backlit
keyboard etc.

Includes mag safe charger, OSX and iLife dvds, documentation,
original box, and polishing cloth. I'll do a fresh install of OSX
before shipping.

Please write me off list to make an offer. I only accept payment via
pay pal and will only ship to a confirmed address. I always ship with
tracking and full insurance.

Thanks,

Cameron.

He wants to convert files in itunes to mp3. How would I tell him to do this.

Dropbox and Blogger

2012-06-11 Thread Blinkin
All,
I swear I am almost done asking questions about these topics. I am so close
to being ready but can't figure the last few things.
I have uploaded audio to Dropbox and I want to put a link to them on my
blog.
When people click the link though I want it to take them to where the
audio plays and has a few media controls instead of where they download the
media.
Can anyone help me with this? I think it is the last thing I need.
Thank you so much!!

Re: Dropbox and Blogger

2012-06-11 Thread Sean Paul
Not sure this is possible with dropbox. You'll probably need a media hosting
service such as Libsyn, Blubrry which both cost. Or, internet archive will
work here as well. It is free however the download of a file is extremely
slow. &, you must own the file.

So with this internet archive site they can just listen to the audio instead of
download it?

Re: Converting mp3 files in iTunes if you don't use vo.

2012-06-11 Thread Ricardo Walker
Hi,

if mp3 is already selected by default for conversions, tell him to just select
the track and do a control click. This would be VO shift M for voiceover users
btw, and there will be a convert to mp3 option in the menu. If it doesn't say
this, for example its says, convert to AAC, tell him to press command comma, to
open iTunes preferences. Then click on the import settings button. Now select
mp3 from the format pop up menu and click ok. Then repeat the original steps.
