Re: airdrop

2012-05-26 Thread Daniela Rubio
Hello again!
did you try command+shift+r directly from the finder? It would be strange that
it doesn't work, because Lyon brings airdrop by default. Try activating wifi
and bluetooth, may be it makes a difference to make airdrop appear.

RE: airdrop

2012-05-26 Thread Paul Hunt
Hello Daniella. It turns out that my Mac Mini is too old to support AirDrop.
AirDrop is supported on Mid 2010 Mac Minis. Mine is late 2009. That’s why I
don’t see it.

Hello:

Yes, it is accessible. Just bring it up from Finder with Command+shift+r.
When it is there, you will see your computer that will stand as "me". If an
other Mac is on the range of airdrop, it will find it and you will see it
just as airdrop. If you interact with that airdrop you will see the name of
the computer to which it belongs and there you can drag in the files you
wish to transfer.

Remember to drag files with the Vo coma and Vo period combination. Once you
dragged the file, a dialog will ask you if you want to send that file, and
when you press send, the other computer will receive the request to accept
the file.

That is all!

at first, it can seem to be a little confusing, but it works great!

Re: Time Shortcut Key

2012-05-26 Thread Red.Falcon
Hi there!
You might find it a bit slow unless you've got Keyboard commander on!
Also you will need to check the [vo controlled by apple scripts ] you can do
this [if you haven't already] by opening vo utility [vo+f8] and you should be
on the general heading just scroll to that check box and check it!

Then if you press command+8 you will be on the commanders select the keyboard
one and you will find options to change [if you like] and a table of preset
commands like right option+M for mail and S for safari!
And of course you can make your own!

Hi there!
You might find it a bit slow unless you've got Keyboard commander on!
Also you will need to check the [vo controlled by apple scripts ] you can do
this [if you haven't already] by opening vo utility [vo+f8] and you should
be on the general heading just scroll to that check box and check it!

Then if you press command+8 you will be on the commanders select the
keyboard one and you will find options to change [if you like] and a table
of preset commands like right option+M for mail and S for safari!
And of course you can make your own!

Do I definitely need another program if I have fine reader express and drivers

If the drivers are on your Mac, then Vuescan should work. I'm using 8.5.02, a

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to write me off list.

Time machine backup and time capsule

2012-05-26 Thread Kirsten Edmondson
Hi, I have just discovered that my time machine has not backed up to my time
capsule for a month. When I try to force it it says back up disk unavailable.
When I went to the help it said to go to airport utility which I did, but I
couldn't tell what was wrong. Also in help it said the password might have
changed. How do I access that ... it said to log in using the original password
created but I can't find how to log in. I assume it's some sort of webpage like
when you try to log into your router. I did have internet problems at some
point in April, perhaps a month ago and had to switch things off, so this might
be why. It's clearly still working as a router, but not to back up. Can anyone
direct me to the appropriate help page, or give me simple instructions to
follow to sort this out asap? Is it something I can do on my own with no
vission?
Thanks
Kirsten.

Re: Vuescan?

2012-05-26 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Kirsten,

First of all, the app for iPhone is for use with wi-fi scanners.

Have you got my set-up guide for VueScan? If not, let me know and I'll send it
to you.

The beauty of VueScan is the quality of the scans which enables ABBYY
FineReader to do a better job on the OCR.

Cheers,

Anne

Re: Time machine backup and time capsule

2012-05-26 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi Kirsten,

First thing that I would do is to restart your Time Capsule. You can do it
through the Airport Utility or just unplug the power to it, leave it unplugged
for about 40 to 45 seconds then plug it back in. Wait a bout a minute for it
to restart and re-establish connectivity and see if it will backup. I've had
similar issues and the restart has usually resolved them.

Later...

Re: Time Shortcut Key

2012-05-26 Thread Red.Falcon
Hi again!
Sorry but in those instructions on how to set up keyboard commander there is a
option to make the Left option key as the default!
So just in case you cannot find those instructions *smile* here goes!

1. open vo utility with vo+f8 and you should be on general scroll across to the
[allow voiceover to be controlled by apple scripts] check box and check it on!
2. then just press Command+8 and that will take you to the commanders, then
select the keyboard tab!
3 scroll through the options like make left option key the default and change
any thing you think you need!

There will be a table of preset commands like M for mail and S for safari and
of course T for time!

This is also where you can set up your own shortcuts [but a little tip] do not
be tempted to set one up for Itunes there is a conflict with Itunes library
chooser and can get in the way!

Editing Facebook Events

2012-05-26 Thread Ezzie Bueno
Hello List,

I created a Facebook event, but need to edit some details--such as the time and
description. How do I go about this? I see nothing in regards to editing this
event when I view it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Ezzie Bueno
