I have never been able to get them to work here. I think the embedded player is
flash based (good luck getting it to work with safari).

Re: accessible youtube to mp3 converter

2011-12-21 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Esther,

as always: your hints are totally helpfull. Thanks for this. :-)

I didn't manage to download a you tube video from http://dirpy.com/. To save it
in mp3 worked fine. Could you please provide me with the stepps I have to do to
get it as a video?

I copied the link in the field and the edit fields were filled in correctly. So
far so good. But when I pressed record it downloads an mp3 version of the
video. Below all the edit fields there were three possible video formats. But
when I clicked on one of them a new window opened and an error message apeared.

Thanks for your help and
all the best
Jürgen

If you want to install and run Click to flash, you can see controls that way.
I think also there is a test page for Youtube as rendered under HTML5. I'm

RE: Question about making itunes playlists

2011-12-21 Thread Missy Hoppe
Hey there, Ricardo! I just wanted to let you know that I have my Christmas and
non-Christmas libraries now, and it seems to
have worked perfectly. Worst case scenario, I may have lost 7 songs in the
process, but in light of the way I was doing it, I
think that's pretty darned good. And, since not even I can figure out what 7
songs are missing, they couldn't have been
important. Only reason I suspect anything is missing is because before I
started, there were 736 items in the itunes library,
and now, the default library has 500 and the Christmas one has 229. In any
case, I really appreciate your help.
Now, 1 final question. When I buy stuff in future, should I be in the library
where I want it to go? In other words, if I
want another Christmas song, should I make sure that library is loaded at the
time, and if I buy regular stuff, I don't want
it to end up in the Christmas library. So, I guess the question is, will new
purchases only go into the active library?
Thank you very much, and I hope that you're having a fantastic day!
Missy

Yup. Goto youtube.com/html5 to switch to the html5 version. I've also

Re: hearing system sounds via remote access

Wonder if you could use Soundfly which sends audio from one Mac to
another. Never tried it but the description sounded good:

http://abyssoft.com/software/soundfly/

There is also Airfoil:

I haven't found a screen sharing solution that does mouse/keyboard/video
and audio but running the built-in sharing plus one of these apps might
allow you to roll your own solution.

It depends quote a bit on what is in the WMP files. WMP is a container
which can have a number of tracks (audio, video, text etc) encoded in
any number of formats with or without encryption. Depending on what's in
there you can re-export a WMP files from QuitTime Pro but I'm sure there

I have no idea.

I would assume a library since you also have an option to export playlists.
Why not export it and find out?

Hi,

After you've created, and added your music to a playlist go to it in the
sources table. Then VO right arrow over to the music table and interact.
Each song has a checkbox. Just find the box and uncheck them manually or,
after you interact with the table press command A to select all then bring
up the context menu with VO shift M and select uncheck selections.

To create a new iTunes library hold down the option key while iTunes is
opening. A dialog will ask you to choose or create a new library. Pick
create. Then all you have to do is just import only your christmas music.

Thank you very much for your response. I'm sorry to sound so dense, but I

those options. Making a separate library sounds like it might be what I
want, but I'm open to trying the unchecking of
Christmas stuff too if that's easier. Instructions for both option would
be extremely appreciated if you could provide them.

Thank you very much, and I hope that you're having a great day.

Hi,

What you ask is not possible. For a song to be in a playlist, it need to
be in the main music playlist. But, there is a way
you can have all the christmas music skipped if your just letting the
music in your music playlist play. After you've moved
your christmas songs to a playlist, just uncheck them. This is as close
as you can get to what your trying to achieve in
iTunes. Well, now that I think about it a little more, I don't see why
you couldn't make a brand new music library and just
put your christmas music in it. Actually, thats probably the best way to
go here.

Control your Mac with your iPhone 4S!

2011-12-21 Thread Austin Seraphin
If you have an iPhone 4S then you have to check out the Vocal app. You have to
download the iPhone portion for $1.99 from the iOS app store. Search for Vocal,
you want the one by Matthew Roberts. Then download the Mac component from
http://mtrbts.me/vocal/

Unfortunately I can't find a way to access the advanced features of the Mac
app, such as the custom bookmarks view, but the developer seems cool. Check it
out anyway, this rules!

Looktel Money Reader For Macintosh (OSX)

2011-12-21 Thread Cara Quinn
Hey All, for those of you whom may not have seen this…

Looktel has just released Money Reader for Mac!

Here's the linkie and the press release…

Enjoy!

Cara :)
---
Looktel Money Reader for Macintosh

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-money-reader/id477052345?ls=1&mt=12

NantWorks and IPPLEX have released their revolutionary LookTel Money Reader,
app for Mac computers on the Apple Mac App Store. The cutting-edge iPhone
application that has helped thousands of users with visual impairments or
blindness identify and count bills is now available for Mac OS computers. By
simply holding a bill in front of your Mac’s camera, the application recognizes
and speaks the denomination in real-time. LookTel Money Reader for Mac supports
several international currencies including the Euro, British Pound, Canadian
Dollar, and Australian Dollar. The app also features VoiceOver integration with
support for several languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian,
German, Polish, Russian, Korean, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Japanese
and more. If your Mac’s language setting is set to any of the supported
languages, LookTel Money Reader will speak the denomination of a recognized
bill in that language, regardless of the currency type.
Powered by LookTel's patented and proprietary object recognition technology,
the application can seamlessly recognize any bill denomination without the need
to take a photo as recognition happens in real-time.
LookTel Money Reader for Mac is the first currency identifier available for
Apple computers. The app is great for users to count and organize their bills
in the comfort of their home, or users who do not own an iPhone. LookTel Money
Reader for Mac also gives users the option to use the app on their preferred
platform.
LookTel Money Reader for iPhone launched in March to overwhelming praise from
critics and users alike, earning a 5-star review average and a featured spot in
the Apple App Store's "What's Hot" Category. LookTel has also been featured by
the New York Times, The Huffington Post, Tech Crunch, Engadget, and several
other major publications. LookTel has also been selected as the winner of the
Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Chairman’s Awards for Advancements in
Accessibility. The award, which recognizes outstanding efforts to advance
communications accessibility for people with disabilities, was awarded in
Washington D.C. on October 28th 2011.
Future LookTel apps will further leverage IPPLEX's groundbreaking augmented
reality technology, allowing users to recognize other everyday objects such as
packaged goods, CDs, medication bottles, and even landmarks. The technology
also combines precision image recognition technology with text reader
capabilities using full featured Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
The LookTel technology powering the application was developed by IPPLEX under
sponsorship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and was awarded two
research grants from the National Eye Institute (NEI) and the National
Institute of Aging (NIA).
About IPPLEX
IPPLEX researches and develops pioneering cross-platform applications and
services focused on interactive communication – between people and the

NantWorks and IPPLEX have released their revolutionary
LookTel Money Reader, app for Mac computers on the
Apple Mac App Store. The cutting-edge iPhone application that has helped
thousands of users with visual impairments or blindness identify and count
bills is now available for Mac OS computers. By simply holding a bill in
front of your Mac's camera, the application recognizes and speaks the
denomination in real-time. LookTel Money Reader for Mac supports several
international currencies including the Euro, British Pound, Canadian Dollar,
and Australian Dollar. The app also features VoiceOver integration with
support for several languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian,
German, Polish, Russian, Korean, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian,
Japanese and more. If your Mac's language setting is set to any of the
supported languages, LookTel Money Reader will speak the denomination of a
recognized bill in that language, regardless of the currency type.

Powered by LookTel's patented and proprietary object recognition technology,
the application can seamlessly recognize any bill denomination without the
need to take a photo as recognition happens in real-time.

LookTel Money Reader for Mac is the first currency identifier available for
Apple computers. The app is great for users to count and organize their
bills in the comfort of their home, or users who do not own an iPhone.
LookTel Money Reader for Mac also gives users the option to use the app on
their preferred platform.

LookTel Money Reader for iPhone launched in March to overwhelming praise
from critics and users alike, earning a 5-star review average and a featured
spot in the Apple App Store's "What's Hot" Category. LookTel has also been
featured by the New York Times, The Huffington Post, Tech Crunch, Engadget,
and several other major publications. LookTel has also been selected as the
winner of the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Chairman's Awards
for Advancements in Accessibility. The award, which recognizes outstanding
efforts to advance communications accessibility for people with
disabilities, was awarded in Washington D.C. on October 28th 2011.

Future LookTel apps will further leverage IPPLEX's groundbreaking augmented
reality technology, allowing users to recognize other everyday objects such
as packaged goods, CDs, medication bottles, and even landmarks. The
technology also combines precision image recognition technology with text
reader capabilities using full featured Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

The LookTel technology powering the application was developed by IPPLEX
under sponsorship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and was
awarded two research grants from the National Eye Institute (NEI) and the
National Institute of Aging (NIA).

About IPPLEX
IPPLEX researches and develops pioneering cross-platform applications and
services focused on interactive communication - between people and the
information, contacts and places they need to access through their mobile
phone or PC. Our award-winning iVisit mobile video conferencing solutions
