iPhone bluetooth keaboard commands

2010-12-21 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Al.,

I remember that there was a web page on Maccessibility that shows all the
possible key combinations in iOS 4 with a bluetooth keaboard. I looked for it
but couldn't find it.

Has anyone of you the link for me and could post it please?

Thanks and
all the best

2010-12-21 Thread Carolyn Haas
Hi Karen and Marlaina:
I did call them, twice, and also wrote to accessibility. I'm going to take
this up with Melissa today, to see what I may have missed out on, or what she
can tell by watching me. I couldn't find a chocolate and nuts page.:(
Karen: Gotta tease you about the veg thing. But, really, thanks for checking
that out. I actually got help from my daughter who can accomplish most
anything on my Mac.
Anyhow, thanks for your good feedback.

Hi Cheree:
BTW: I really like that you start your emails with a self id. It makes reading
these emails easier without having to look for a signature or id in the header
when someone writes.
Anyhow, I've thought about doing just that, or at least a blog. But, I'd
surely need some wiser Mac users to help test and/or double check things before
putting someone up as inaccessible.:)
Anyhow, just an idea.

Re: having issues downloading drop box files

2010-12-21 Thread Esther

Hi Ray,

I don't understand the source of this problem, but in general, if you copy a link to the
Safari or Web Kit address bar, by using Command-C, navigate to the address bar with
Command-L, then paste with Command-V, and highlight the address again with Command-L, you
can press Return and the linked entry should download.  The step of highlighting the link
(final Command-L), makes the action of pressing "Return" act like pressing
Option+Return on a link to force downloading.  This is why, if you activated a link and
started playing an mp3 file you meant to download, or else displayed a PDF in your
browser that you meant to download, simply using Command-L, and pressing return will
force the file in the Safari plug-in to download -- you highlighted the file with the
Command-L.

HTH.  Obviously if there are problems with broken links as the source of your
download problems this won't fix them.

Cheers,

Esther

is it possible to reorder items in web roter

2010-12-21 Thread Marlaina Lieberg
Hi.

I do not think the order in which web roter items appear makes much sense. I'd
like to have commonly used things like links, visited links, forms and tables
right next to each other. Is there any way to reorder how that roter shows
itself?

Thanks to your help, I am becoming more efficient and proficient in safari. I
know I say this a lot, but I really appreciate everything many of you have
taught me.

Seriously, are you using IMAP?
If so, try synchronizing your mail accounts.
Do VO + m, right arrow until you reach the "Mailbox" menu, and select

Hope this helps,

Hi Marlaina!
Ok you can remove items from the rooter to leave the ones you want!
Open vo utility vo+f8 and interact with the categories table and arrow to the
web heading!
stop interacting and scroll until rooter includes menu button!
vo+space on that and you can check or uncheck items you do or do not want!

The Accessibility of Google Docs

2010-12-21 Thread Marc Workman
Hi,

I'm guessing this has been asked and answered before, but I'm not finding
anything in the archives.

I'm wondering if anyone is successfully using Google Docs to colaborate on
writing documents. I was not able to do this with my PC, but I was hoping it
might be possible with the Mac. After a little time spent playing around with
it, it seems a bit better than it did when I was using jaws, but I still wasn't
able to edit documents. Perhaps there are some work arounds that I'm not aware
of.

Thanks,

Marc

more about laccessibility & also itunes

2010-12-21 Thread Carolyn Haas
Hi Everyone:
I learned about some things today that for me were new and interesting. For
some this may be old stuff. But, I consider the following things pretty
interesting. This is regarding my one to one training today.

1. We looked at the website I had issues with. What it has is a lot of
immages, and some text that is sort of in the background. We looked at it with
Lynx, and certainly it made more sense. However, given that it involves
terminal commands, my trainer suggested I not use Lynx until I'm a little mre
seasoned, and I am completely in agreement with this. So, next, as an
experiment, she went into browser preferences and under appearance she turned
off "display images when page opens."Well, not too cool for a sighted user.
But, all of a sudden those text items in the background read very well. We
also went to another difficult website, (my local grocery is at
Kingsoopers.com). It too worked much more cleanly. Of course, the down side
is a sighted person would be pretty unhappy with the screen as it is. So, good
to know how to turn images back on when you're done.:)
2. I have a cd that for whatever reason imports very quiet in iTunes. Sound
check didn't render any improvement. So, there are two places where one can
make adjustments of which I was unaware. In preferences, weinteracted with
the toolbar, chose playback, checked the box for "soundcheck", and also oosted
playback volume. When that didn't make the desired change, we went to "get
info", (command I), and to options. There another volume slider was available
for the cd. Boosting that slider, the cd plays at the same level as other
stuff now.
Perhaps old stuff for some of us. But, these might be helpful to someone else
so thought I'd share.
Thanks for reading.
Now I have to figure out or remember how to turn on images again.:) All part
of the learning process.

Take care everyone, and I'll be the first out on the limb to wish everyone a
very Merry Christmas, if you are celebrating.

Re: is it possible to reorder items in web roter

2010-12-21 Thread Colin M
Hi there!
Well I do not think so!
And as far as I can tell you cannot rename them either!
I cannot remember the command keys but there is one to move say items in the
doc so you can have the doc the way you want it!
But I think that command will not work in the rota menu!

Re: note editor in garage band 6

2010-12-21 Thread Scott Chesworth
Hey Uma,

For your first question, I can't say with certainty, but my gut
feeling was that you're stuck with the default mapping in GB. Could
very well be wrong though.

For your second question, I'm afraid the answer is that the note
editor still isn't 100% accessible. VO users can get to most of the
adjustable parameters and suchlike, but the score or notation data
itself is still invisble to VO. Given that the only way to select via
the keyboard in GB6 is to select via regions, it might in theory be
possible to hone in on inidividual notes you want to tweak, split said
note to be a region, and then perform the adjustment with only that
region selected. Can't say I tried it here, because even if it worked,
it wouldn't have been a fast enough method for me to get stuff done.

FWIW, I've written to Apple accessibility to give encouragement and
critique on the GB6 update in equal measure. They acknowledged that
there was still work to be done in the note editor, which is a good
sign that it will be done at some point. They also received a horribly
dry report on what was lacking in terms of accessibility in GB5 from
me as part of a previous job, and 80% of those issues were addressed
in GB6, so keep your fingers crossed that they finish the job soon.

Cheers
Scott

itunes gift card

2010-12-21 Thread Mary Otten
I recently took advantage of a deal on ITunes gift cards that best buy was
offering and promptly bought a few IBooks after entering the cards into my
account. I've gotten the receipts for my books stating that store credit was
used, yet when I open ITunes, it still shows the original amount of credit that
my gift cards supplied, as though I had not yet used any of the credit. Is that
a common occurrence? Or is there something weird going on here?

a most curious sound output issue

2010-12-21 Thread Ray Foret Jr
Hi,

Recently, after the upgrade, I noticed a curious sound output issue happening.
I work on one file using Izotope RX Version 2.0 and finish it up. Then, I
close it and open a second file to work on. If I do this using my built in
Speakers, I get just up to the noise reduction feature and suddenly, the output
driver seems to act up. I don't yet know if this happens with headphones
plugged in or not. Anybody else notice this weird behavior?

Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!!

Now A Very Proud and very happy Mac user!!!
