8 bit sequencer for mac

2009-10-04 Thread Yuma Antoine Decaux

Hi list

http://www.ymck.net/english/download/index.html

Check out the demo sound. This plugin works with garage band, digital
performer and logic audio. I know that the two last arent accessible
and garage band is partially so, but i think this is what has been
ported to the iphone as a standalone app called 8bit one micro composer.

ANyone know if this is accessible on the iphone?

  Hi,

Find your file menu in iTunes, and you can either make smart playlists, which
are playlist that will update automatically depending on certain criteria such
as year, artist, and album or simply make a playlist that keeps track of
different things, though you will have to add files to it manually.

As for switching libraries, you simply go to the sources table and arrow down
until you have found the desired library.

Re: DJ 3 accessible

Hi hank,

What i'm saying is that the new mighty mouse from apple will have
multitrack like functions. I don't know if its actually a mousepad
like contraption, but there was an article last week over the new
mouses which will either come with new line of mac desktops or
standalone, so no one is spared with the multitrack gestures after
that release. when i can't get it out of memory at this point.

Either case, the scratching is possible without the multitrackpad in
dj3. And if you read my forward of my convo with algoriddim, developer
of dj3, they will be working on fixing that

hope that clarifies

Hi,

Well, I went ahead and did it.

I booted from the DVD, launched VoiceOver, chose my main language and
went into the utilities menu. I clicked on Restore system from Backup
or something similar, and just followed the instructions from there.
Seemed to work pretty well. Looks perfectly accessible. Just use the
VO-keys, and you should be set.

Re: Read iris 12 pro again.

2009-10-04 Thread Anne Robertson

Hello Annie,

I assume you've installed Readiris since the installer is completely
accessible.

Initialising and registering Readiris 12

• Open Readiris application;
• Unvoiced dialogue box appears asking you to enter your serial
number. Just type your serial number and press Return. There is no
typing echo.
• Unvoiced dialogue box appears asking you to register your software
licence. If Talking Alerts is on, it will read this box. Press Space
to register later or Return to register immediately. Return will
launch Safari, where pressing the Tab key will put you in the correct
edit box in the registration form, much of which is already filled in
for you.
• Unvoiced dialogue box in Readiris, "Please select your preferred
output format and target application". The default values are RTF and
TextEdit respectively. Just press Return. You can change these values
later using the Text Format dialogue in the Settings menu.

Readiris is now active, but you may have to toggle VoiceOver off and
on again.

Known bugs in Readiris 12:
1 Initialisation sequence not voiced and not VO accessible.
2 The settings Page Deskewing and Detect Page Orientation do not stick
and must be activated at each execution.
3 The Recognise and Save function is only available via a button and
not a menu command or shortcut.
4 The buttons on the righthand side of the window are not labelled for
VoiceOver.

All these have been reported to the Iris team but duplicate reports
will add to the pressure to get them fixed quickly.

Cheers,

Anne

Re: Latest article on using the Mac from the Braille Monitor

2009-10-04 Thread Donna Goodin

This is a great article, very well written and balanced. Well worth
the read.

I did find one surprise though. When Steven was talking about the
announcement of mis-spelled words, he mentions that when you are told
that a word is misspelled, there is a way to pull up a list of
possible suggested correct spellings. I'm talking here about just the
misspelled prompt when reviewing a doc, email, etc, not the actual use
of spell-checker. How does one access this list of possible
corrections?
Thanks,
Donna

Hi,

The only way I know of doing this is command-colon to invoke the
suggestions, and command-semicolon to just highlight the next
misspelled word.

I've never heard of other ways to do this.

Hi:

To use the quick spellcheck:

• in a document/email/text field, press cmd-; to highlight/navigate to the next
miss spelled word,
• press VO-shift-m to bring up the context menu,
• if there are suggestions for the miss spelled word, you can use the VO-arrow
keys to select a suggestion,
• press VO-spacebar to choose the suggestion.

Makes it a lot easier.

Isn't word completion kind of the same as a spellcheck? And for some
odd reason, option-escape didn't work.

Nic

I did find one surprise though. When Steven was talking about the
announcement of mis-spelled words, he mentions that when you are
 told
that a word is misspelled, there is a way to pull up a list of
possible suggested correct spellings. I'm talking here about just
 the
misspelled prompt when reviewing a doc, email, etc, not the actual
 use
of spell-checker. How does one access this list of possible
 corrections?
 Thanks,

have any of you used quick books with Voiceover?

Dear fellow Mac Scholars,

I hope everyone is doing well. Last spring on the list, I heard of
Quick Books being accessible with Voiceover. I want to know, has
anyone used it? If so, what do you think of it. Have a wonderful
evening.

Re: have any of you used quick books with Voiceover?

2009-10-04 Thread John J Herzog

Hi Ben,
quickbooks 2009 is almost accessible. I say almost, because although
you can view reports successfully, and view when transactions were
made, you cannot write checks on your own. Voiceover does not
recognize the different fields in which you are supposed to type
material. I was going to do a podcast on quickbooks, but decided
against it since it lacks this functionality for voiceover users.
You can, however, choose between which clients you are viewing, and
which expenditures you are looking at. The results are given to you in
an accessible table.
I hope this helps: Not sure what you want to do with the program.

Re: canceling mobile me with vo?

2009-10-04 Thread Howard Dupuis

Go to MobileMe in System Preferences. Click "Account" tab. Click
"Account Settings" button -- you may need to enter your password after
this -- then "Account Details" and then "Account Options." There, at
the bottom of that page, you'll be able to cancel your account. I just
went through these steps -- except for actually canceling, which I
don't want to do -- so I can't say for certain that the final step
would work, but there were no difficulties up to that point.

Hi Hank,

Check my instructions for canceling MobileMe in the list archives post on
"Instructions on how to Cancel Mobile Me":

http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/msg02244.html

They were written for Safari 3, but I think they'll still work.

Cheers,

Re: have any of you used quick books with Voiceover?

2009-10-04 Thread John J Herzog

I think its more problematic than that. The labeling feature is meant
to correct fields that are unlabeled, and buttons that just say
button. This problem is worse, in that when using the VO keys to move
around the window, voiceover does not even recognize any of the
fields. So, when trying to write a check, you will not hear it say
edit text even once.

Interesting, didn't know it was accessible.

Spss I mean. But then again, it's now not known as spss. They've changed
the name to something like
Pasw.

To my knowledge, the only statistics program that is accessible at all
is SPSS with a set of scripts written by a fellow I think is named
Peter Orem and JAWS. I would look at the FS web site or write to
someone like Eric Damery who would know the status.

RE: iPhone, my first impression

2009-10-04 Thread Simon Fogarty

Hi Christina,

I've both witched to an iphone and then back to a nokia. And mainly because
of the ease of use that a nokia gives you.
My nokia n86 will do everything the iphone does, but uses keys rather than
touch panel.

Don't get me wrong, the IPhone is a great device and it should be looked at
as an accessible device.
But the nokia was just easier to use while on the go.

The best thing to do is to try the iphone in store and also to look at a
number of the nokias that are available on the market and see which one
takes your fancy if at all.
Your own thoughts and opinions are the most reliable. The iphone is great
but it may not be wat you want in the long run.

 Cheers

Simon F

or answer a call. I'd like to be able to do more like use contacts,
calendar, and caller id. Since, you've switched from Nokia to iphone
would you go back? Do you feel you can do everything and more with
the iphone or are there some aspects and features of the Nokias that
you miss that I should consider? Are Nokias and the third party text
to speech software compatible with the mac? I'm also wondering if I
should wait until next summer to purchase an iphone. I wonder what
features and such apple is working on for the phone next year.

Thanks,
Christina
