This is a handy place to find VoiceOver related podcasts in one place. I prefer to go to the Blind Cool Tech feed at: http://www.blindcooltech.com/bct.xml instead of their main web page to check for recent podcasts, since the web page will takes some time to load for VoiceOver. You'll need your Google Groups login for this list to access the podcasts page. This is not VoiceOver specific, but there was a recent Blind Cool Tech podcast by Dane Trethowan on using SuperDuper for backup on the Mac that you can find, together with Mike's 7th Mac Access podcast, on the Blind Cool Tech feed: Super Duper 4/20/2009 Dane Trethowan demonstrates this backup program for the Mac from www.shirtpocket.com that compliments Time Machine. He also demonstrates using the web browser on the internet and demonstrates how it works with Ebay. 22.0 MB Mac Demo 4 12/16/2008 Mike Arrigo continues this series by answering questions, showing the improved accessibility in iTunes 8, playing a DVD, and using the web with dynamic web pages. 22.8 MB Mac Demo 5 1/18/2009 Mike Arrigo continues this series about built-in accessibility on the Mac by demonstrating running Windows on the Mac. VMWare Fusion, Voice Over and setting up keys
Please excuse the cross-posting, but I very much need some assistance and want to reach as many people as possible. I recently installed VMWare Fusion on my Mac Book, because there are two programs that I need professionally, and they only run under Windows. I use Window-Eyes as my Windows screen reader. I can get Windows to work, and Window-Eyes is merrily chatting away, too. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get around the Windows right mouse click issue and all those commands where Window-Eyes uses the Insert key. If there is a FAQ or if there are any special programs I would need to install to make this all come together, I would be more than grateful. I am thinking that what I want to accomplish may necessitate a lot of remapping keys. Besides the Insert and right mouse clicks, are there any other gotchas that I need to be aware of? Re: VMWare Fusion, Voice Over and setting up keys
Hi there. Can you please explain to people like myself who haven't used sharpkey's is this piece of software so you can tell fusion that you want to use some key on the keyboard as an insert key like in window eyes or jaws? I hear on a macbook function m is meant to work as an insert key but it doesn't work at all for me. All I am wanting to do is to have some kind of a key set up as an insert key so I guess sharpkey's will allow this? Hello Jesper, You can expand and contract threads using the left and right arrows alone. Once a thread is expanded, its header, and all the messages inside the thread, are highlighted and you can use the up and down arrows as usual.
