Good morning,

Interesting, I haven't tried much of this myself. Have these bugs
been filed with Eclipse? I imagine that they would get resolved if
filed.

Thanks,

Hello,

this is a short answer because I have to go to the doctor

I don't find any method to file these bugs in eclipse. Where can I
file these bugs?
I'll search in eclipse menu if there is any option to do this but
if there is anybody knows it

disk utilitty

2009-04-21 Thread ben mustill-rose

Hey all, i'm getting very frustrated at disk utilitty and am wondering
if anyone could help.
I have an iso of content and a usb drive that I want to restore that content to.

I open disk utilitty and click restore but it wants me to drag the
disks into the edit boxes. I pasted the source in but for some reason
its not letting me paste the destination.

Very annoyed right now, so if anyone could help me out that'd be great.

Cheers.

Anyone see System Profile or Skype 2.8 beta crashes?

2009-04-21 Thread Doug Lee

Two questions, maybe and maybe not related?

1. Anyone seen System Profiler crash either on Save or Save As, or
when you focus the Displays row of the Contents table? I have a Mac
Mini with no display attached, and I have no display to attach and
have never hooked one up at all. I wonder if System Profiler has
trouble with that concept.

2. If anyone has tried the public beta of Skype 2.8 for the Mac,
please let me know if it crashes when you try to make or receive a
call. I am usually unable to do calls with 2.8 on my Mini, and I'm
trying to figure out why. 2.7 works fine.

Thanks much for any info.

Hi Doug,

2.8 has the same behaviour here too on a Macbook Pro, and as you say,
2.7 seems not too, so that's what I've gone back too. I have no idea
what causes it, but thought it might be helpful to know that it's not
specific to your system.

Hi Doug, I'm using 2.8 on my iMac ok here. And as far as the system

HI, Doug,
As far as skype goes, the only time it acts sluggish is when I am in a
chat. Other than that, I don't have issues with it.
Usually, it stops acting slugghis after a while, and if it does not,
then, you need to relaunch skype.

Re: Eclipse with Cocoa

2009-04-21 Thread Mitchell Smith

Hi,

A lot of the bugs you describe do not exist with the Eclipse 3.5 cocoa build
and the VoiceOver in snow leopard.

I've been extensively testing this setup, as I use Eclipse in my daily job
and would very much like to do away with my windows virtual machine.

If I were you I'd wait for the official Eclipse 3.5 release (scheduled for
June/July this year if all goes according to plan), and the release of Snow
Leopard (can't give you an estimation on that one).

Any bugs that exist after that would definitely be worth raising both with
Apple and Eclipse.

I have found Apple to be very responsive in resolving any VoiceOver issues I
have raised in Snow Leopard which is very encouraging to note, it just
proves their dedication to accessibility.

Re: disk utilitty

2009-04-21 Thread Mitchell Smith

Hi,

This is a little tricky, but if you are running Leopard, VoiceOver does have
support for performing a drag and drop operation via the keyboard (not
implemented in Tiger).

Check out the tutorial at
http://www.lioncourt.com/guides-tutorials/drag-and-drop-with-voiceover/

Following the drag and drop instructions in this tutorial I was able to drag
a DMG image from my hard disk and restore it on a USB drive with no problem.

Cheers,

Mitch

getting rid of Mobileme trial

2009-04-21 Thread Brent Harding

Hi there. I ended up signing up for the 60-day trial of Mobileme, and I'm
finding their site isn't really too accessible. I want to get rid of the
service. When I get to the cancel page, it can barely be done with Firefox
and JFW, the link that actually would cancel won't activate. How can I get
this thing canceled? I tried calling 18007672775 and saying Mobileme for
what I needed support for, but that thing just says to go online for some
kind of chat that I really doubt is accessible. Is there an easy way to get
rid of it besides canceling the debit card?

Thanks.

Hi,
Brent,

Back in the days it was .Mac *Cough* your trial expired and you just
kept the .Mac account for IChat and Apple's Website.

I think things have changed but I am unsure.

If daisypod was daisybox, written for rockbox, it would work on

Re: oldschool mac nostalgia

Anybody remember BEX, braille edit express? I had an apple II e, an
otsuki braille printer, it did braille and print at the same time, and
even an echo II plus. Who could forget the image writer? My friends
used to make those huge banners in print shop. The echo had polyphonic
music capabilities. I remember my first hack, I made my computer speak
those "MEC" games! oregon trail etal.
I always enjoyed those news letters on tape from raised dot computing,
I got mine on tape read by Jessy somebody. Oh those were the days!
Anybody remember any of this stuff?

Jessie Casum. I had such a crush on Jessie Casun or whatever he name
was. I talked to her once when I was asking a question about Bex. I
used Bex all the way through college to do my papers. Either Bex or
Prowords, but more often Bex. I had a spell checker for it, even, but
it never worked right. It came on double-sided disks and if you had
good timing, you could pull out the disk at one point and flip it over
and shortcut some of the menus to get to the Bex main menu.

Hello there.

Why do you want to delete the skype folder for?
As long as your sitting on the folder in the applications folder command
backspace moves the item to the trash.

Thanks for that. I wasn't particularly clean on that voice a few years ago,

preferred jaws. Jaws is still good, and it has got better, but I really
like the voice now and am looking forward to using mac again.

Hi there Mark, wow thanks for that. I'm not sure whether to have a windows
program running on the mac or not and if so what?
I have 2 gig of ram on it and a 160 hard drive. I don't know therefore, if
running vista would work that well. I really can't wait to get it.
I did hear alex on the voice over speech today and it's quite clear. Easier
than jaws to listen too and clearer in some ways, more human-like maybe the
better way to describe it.

I'll not be getting rid of my vista machine, but I can't wait to get this
mac. I just can't wait to use it. I know the sound quality on it is
brilliant.

take care and I will definitely give you a shout when I get it. I think, I'm
