I can confirm this behaviour also with Swedish keyboard

Examples

Acute accent + c prints ç in 12.04.3 but ć in 13.10
Acute accent + e prints é in 12.04.3 and 13.10

When I log in from a Lubuntu 13.10 client via ssh to a Xubuntu 12.04.3
ssh server, I get the 13.10 behaviour, so it seems connected to the
keyboard setting rather than interpreting the ascii code.

So please file a bug report and post the bug number. I will add 'affects
me too'.

Best regards
Nio

Re: [Lubuntu-qa] Lubuntu fake-PAE installed system image file for Lubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander

2013-11-02 Thread Nio Wiklund
Hi, Kadrija,

It was fairly easy but not quite straight-forward to make a Lubuntu Core
tarball from the Ubuntu 13.10 mini.iso. Please test it and let us know
how it works for you :-)

I have uploaded a tarball with the following md5sum and name to phillw.net

3d3064f982681bc1c78624d16062e6b9 tarballs/LubuntuCoreSaucy.tar.xz

There is fake-PAE. But in order to make the network portable I also
installed 'network-manager' and tweaked it according to this link

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/MinimalInstall#Unmanaged_Wired_Network

Best regards
Nio

Well, not dual boot within the same drive, but it you have two drives it
is possible. So you can boot your Pentium M equipped computer from 'an
installed system' in a USB drive. A USB 2 pendrive is OK. A USB 3
pendrive or a USB 2 HDD are faster.

And in April your XP will reach its end of life, and then you should not
take the risk and run it without security updates.

Yes. There are alternatives. I suggest that you try Lubuntu fake-PAE
'grub-n-iso', where grub helps you boot from the regular Lubuntu 13.10
iso file.

See these links

Good luck

Re: [Lubuntu-qa] Lubuntu fake-PAE installed system image file for Lubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander

2013-11-02 Thread Nio Wiklund
Good luck!

I think the lubuntu-core image can be useful for other people.
And please report back, when you have results from 'grub-n-iso' :-)

I think 'grub-n-iso' will install, but if not (due to low RAM), consider
installing with the OBI, before or at the end of life of XP.

Best regards Nio

There are about 42 suggestions/ideas. Some are already assigned to
Sub-Teams. Some are not because the discussion is not yet done.

https://blueprints.launchpad.net/lubuntu-brainstorming

Whenever you see "New', it means nothing has been discussed.
Whenever you see "Discussion", it means the discussion has started
and whenever you see something on "Delivery", it means the actual work has
started on that specific Blueprint

Re: [Lubuntu-qa] keymap us(alt-intl) not working as expected.

2013-11-02 Thread Andre Rodovalho
Do you have this problem on Lubuntu 13.04?

I updated to 13.10 from 13.04... LxKeymap is still here, and also the
lxpannel widget... But I have no problems with this caracters. Maybe the
language installed makes difference, I installed with Portuguese-BR using
US Keyboard with dead keys!
