Catalan Team Convention

2009-12-11 Thread Rafael Carreras
Tomorrow our Catalan Team will get its first Convention in order to
express the community concerns and future plans.

It's the first time we will do something so Team oriented, at least
thinking specifically on that, and we try to put some of
'professional' touch in it.

We'll meet in Barcelona, UPC University from 10:00 to 14:00 h CET,
that's 9:00 to 13:00 UTC.
We'll try to do some streaming video (to be confirmed), I will
communicate that in #ubuntu-locoteams if we succeed.

LoCo Directory

2009-12-11 Thread Daniel Holbach
Hello everybody,

after hours of work of lots of nice people, we're happy to announce

http://loco.ubuntu.com

The LoCo Directory has been talked about for a long time now and we're
happy to release a first functional release, which is 0.1.0. In this
first release we simply want to keep team data up to date.

Make sure your LoCo Team is in http://launchpad.net/~locoteams and if
you are approved in http://launchpad.net/~locoteams-approved - then you
can, if you are an team admin or team owner of the team, edit your team
data and we can slowly replace https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList

There's a lot of things we still need to do and lots of ideas kicking
around for version 0.2.0, which will let you put up Events data for your
LoCo team.

If you want to help out:

 - Translate it: https://translations.launchpad.net/loco-directory
 - File bugs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/loco-directory
 - Review/push changes: https://code.launchpad.net/loco-directory

Thanks a lot to everybody who worked on the code, made designs, helped
fix stuff, had conversations about it, specced it out, filed bugs and
translated it. You are all awesome!

Go and try it out, edit your team data and file bugs. :-)

Have a great day,
 Daniel

Re: LoCo Directory

2009-12-11 Thread Danny Piccirillo
Very nice! But the naming conventions need to be fixed.

Three US teams include united states while the rest just go by the state
name. Some teams use initials while others use the entire name. That should
be sorted out. Perhaps it can be alphabetized by country, and then the US
and similar places can have the state teams indented, perhaps in an
expandable thing.

All naming comes atraight from launchpad. Once the team fixes this in
the teams details in launchpad, it should be taken care of

Re: LoCo Directory

2009-12-11 Thread Martin Owens
I proposed the idea on IRC, but no one was online, that we take all
teams without added data and list them in an uncategorised section.

All teams with data would be categorised by the country, region and city
supplied by the team owner.
