[LincolnTalk] Children's Herbal Program Aug 4-7

2025-03-20 Thread Lucia Rossoni Longnecker
The Boston School of Herbal Studies is
offering a 4 day Herbal Summer Program for Children August 4-7 at Sweet
Autumn Farm.
The kids (ages 7-12) will meet each day from 9:30-3:00 in Carlisle, MA and
will be introduced to the world of plants, how to honor them, and how they
can help us too. Taught on a 14 acre organic herb farm, this herbal program
provides a beautiful environment for children to learn about plants, with
fun activities such as making salves and teas, plant walks and
identification, plant story-telling, plant inspired movement, and more.
Our goal is for children to discover (remember) the wonders of nature and
deepen their respect for the Earth and its inhabitants. Click here

Re: [LincolnTalk] Visting Vet For Chickens?

2025-03-20 Thread Karen Seo
I don't know of a poultry vet who does farm calls; but in case it
helps I've found a couple of places with poultry knowledge:

   Dr. Giles Siddons DVM
   Lexington Vet Associates
   511 Waltham Street
   Lexington MA 02421
   tel: 781-862-1127
   email: i...@lexingtonveterinary.com
(did a necropsy on one of my hens)

   Countryside Veterinary Hospital
   N. Chelmsford

The following 2 places might provide useful advice:

   MSPCA Angell
   Jamaica Plain, MA
Their website doesn't list what species they cover but they seem to
be able to consult with specialists for avian and exotic pets

UNH Durham  will do necropsies on chickens
   603-862-2726
   nhvdl.unh.edu

If you hear of someone else who handles chickens or farm calls, I'd love
to hear about him/her.
