[LincolnTalk] Lincoln Girl Scouts & Fundraiser for Council on Aging
Last week, the Lincoln Girl Scouts continued its longstanding tradition of making crafts for the Council on Aging winter gift baskets. The Girl Scouts met in the Dining Commons and (making quite the mess) made peanut butter pinecone bird feeders and hand wrote greeting cards (we thought the poem included below was quite the masterpiece). This year, the COA is looking for $10 gift cards to local stores - CVS, Market Basket, etc. Many of the Scouts' parents have already personally donated, but not many have been dropped off at Bemis. If you feel so moved, now is your last chance to donate. Please drop off gift cards to Bemis early this week. If you don't have time, and are comfortable with it, please reach out to one of the leaders below and we can purchase for you if you Venmo us. Thanks for your consideration, Diana Jong (Giles Rd) Sara Lupkas Laura Taylor [image: pinecones.jpg] [image: card.jpg] -- The LincolnTalk mailing list. To post, send mail to Lincoln@lincolntalk.org. [LincolnTalk] Antique kids desk free
Very cool antique little kids desk! Probably 20” high and 30” long. Was my wife’s mother’s when she was a kid, then my wife’s, then my daughters. But now it’s time for a new home. Still has the hole for the inkwell which is pretty neat. About ten years ago I had it restored and repainted, and the hinges all work nicely. It’s solid metal and wood. Can’t beat the price and it will last far longer than you will need it for - it’s heavy!!! -- The LincolnTalk mailing list. To post, send mail to Lincoln@lincolntalk.org. Re: [LincolnTalk] Calkins Lawsuit
Dr. Urion is very well known. This “whole language” problem has been going on all over the state. State and federal law demands that kids be educated in their home districts when possible. For something like dyslexia, it’s def possible. It also costs the districts less, is less disruptive, etc. > On Dec 7, 2024, at 4:18 PM, t...@kennedygroupboston.com wrote: > > Surprisingly, we’re still having this discussion after at least 30 years. > When my son could not read well in the 3rd grade we were told not to worry > about it, that he would do just fine.
