[LincolnTalk] Nanny Available

2024-09-13 Thread Eri Anne-Marie Buitrago
Hello Neighbors,

A friend’s long time nanny job has ended, as the children have reached school
age, and she is available. Her name is Aurea Torres (857-285-0164) Here is a
short introduction from her. I am happy to serve as a reference, in addition to
the family she has been working with for years.

“Hi I’m Aurea 40yrs young, I love be outside, hiking, running and going to the
beach also reading, art and eat good food. I worked as a nanny, for about 4
years with 2 adorable boys. Sadly the kids that I used to take care of since
they were babies are going to school full time.
So I’m looking for a new nanny position job.

I’m experienced nanny and my background is in education. I worked as a teacher
for about 13 years in Brazil with means my experience with kids is 20 years
between teaching and childcare. I love kids and my passion is learning and
teaching how kids developed their best.

Please let me know if you are looking for a child care.

Thank you, Aurea Torres”

[LincolnTalk] Advertisement for members for the Dark Skies Committee

2024-09-13 Thread Vaughn, Paula
Hello Lincoln Talk,

New Dark Skies Subcommittee:

We are seeking Lincoln residents to join the Dark Skies Committee. The Planning
Board established a Dark Skies subcommittee to study light pollution in the
Town of Lincoln and to recommend updates and protocols for Lincoln to reduce
and control light pollution.
Recent research on the adverse effects of artificial light at night and new
technological advances in lighting provide us with the opportunity to take
steps to protect our dark sky. The expected time commitment in the order of
1-3 hours weekly includes varied tasks, research, analysis, and regular meeting
attendance/engagement. The committee's goals include establishing a mission
statement, and updating bylaws, as well as developing and implementing an
educational campaign.
If you want to participate, please reach out by September 30th to Louise
Bergeron, louiseberge...@earthlink.net,
and Craig Nicholson
nichols...@lincolntown.org with a brief
statement about your interest.

[LincolnTalk] Help/Advice With Very Sick Puppy

2024-09-13 Thread Donald
Hello All,

I bought a puppy out of state who came down with parvovirus within a day or
so. It appears he was sold to me already. I also bought good insurance for
him but this does not kick in until two weeks later and it does not cover
any preexisting conditions.

I am posting here because while he is hospitalized in a hospital in
Waltham, the cost of treatment is estimated to be around $8500. I am
already over $3000 dollars. As a grad student, this cost is not feasible. I
am therefore asking for any advice on alternative treatment options of
facilities that might be cheaper. Current treatment is basically feeding
via tube and monitoring.

I can't rest until I have tried everything in my power for the sweetest
puppy in the whole world. Any recommendations / advice is welcome. Please
feel free to message me privately if you wish.

Thanks a million.

Kind regards,

Donald

[LincolnTalk] ISO: 5-6 qt enameled ceramic Dutch Oven

2024-09-13 Thread Jeffrey
After donating crock pots and Dutch ovens to SWAP, years later I suddenly
am in need of a Dutch Oven. Prefer newer 5-6 qt enameled ceramic; more
recent ones are certified lead-free enamel coatings. Don't want to buy a
brand new one because it's only needed short-term. Will pay fair used price.

Thanks for your attention and you can email or text Jeffrey @ 617.281.4110.

[LincolnTalk] regarding heat pumps installations + a thought on internet service

2024-09-13 Thread Magazine Writer via Lincoln
I recently had a heat pump installed by Kilpatrick HVAC out of Westford. They
were much less expensive than many other companies -- though they are also a
very small company, and when one of their main employees got sick, it held up
the install for a time. Nonetheless, they were incredibly responsive, easy to
talk to and communicate with, and they did a very good job -- and kept things
very clean during the install, and cleaned up afterwards.

Re: internet service: I am trying to skip wifi service all together by just
using my hotspot. It also generally speaking helps me stay off the internet.
Maybe not something that will work for bigger households, but I actually feel
like this has gone a long way towards helping me control my use of the Internet
-- because I have to "opt in" now, rather than just eternally floating in the
connectivity.

[LincolnTalk] ISO New PCP

2024-09-13 Thread Jeffrey C. Mizrahi via Lincoln

Hello LT's,

My primary care doc (internal medicine) of many years, has left her
practice and moved away.  If anyone would like to recommend someone
nearby (for ex. Concord, Lexington, Waltham, etc), it would be most
welcome.  I have no gender preference.  A DO would be great, too.  I
have Medicare and excellent supplemental insurance.

Many thanks, and please respond privately,
Jeff
