Snowball bugs - New process announcement

2012-01-05 Thread anmar.ou...@linaro.org
Hello All:

Now that we have tightly integrated Linaro and Igloocommunity [1], it
is time for us to tweak our internal process to accommodate this
change. As of today, the following applies:

1. The igloocommunity [2] Launchpad project will replace the
linaro-landing-team-ste [3] one. This will apply to releases, bugs, etc.

2. The ST-Ericsson Landing Team will post their kernel releases on [2]
starting with the 2012.01 release onward.

3. All new snowball related bugs, should use [2]

4. Pre-existing bugs in [3] will be migrated to [2] in the next 24
hours.

5. Only private bugs will be left in [3]

6. Snowball PPA is now part of the igloocommunity-maintainers
Launchpad team [4]

Amit Pundir has a VE board for exactly that reason so I suggest he is
tasked with the testing next to the RTSM stuff as well.

As long as we can a private space for the LTs, I think it is a great idea.

The latest l-m-c found in Ubuntu 11.10 or we need to use the bzr
branch? If using the bzr branch, why not bump the version in the
Ubuntu archive?

Re: End of support for Snowball V2 board

It is fair a statement but It doesn't apply here. Snowball V2 was not
widely shared outside ST-Ericsson and Linaro. Therefore, there is no
possibility of having anybody outside depending on it or sponsoring
it. Having it linger for another month will only cause confusion.

I recommend that we terminate the Snowball V2 support immediately.

Lee: We should also rename the Snowball V3 HWPacks to just Snowball HWPack.

We are working on replenishing the Snowball Hardware in Linaro.
