One-time ragged-right?
Hi, I'm looking to put a line break in a piece, but leave just that line ragged, in order to create some white space to the side of the bar. I'm not sure if Lilypond can do this, but is there any kind of workaround known? Slightly OT: MIDI recording on a Mac?
Hi folks, a little off-topic, I admit... I want to let our keyboard player input a score, and I was thinking that the easiest, and quickest way, would be to let him play it on our keyboard and record it on my notebook, so that I can combine the various parts into one part and re-generate MIDIs and transposed music (with Lilypond!) for all the voices. Can anyone recommend hardware and software solutions for an Apple TiBook? Due to ... certain circumstances I can only run Mac OS 10.1 on my laptop... HD is a bit freaked out. I do have GarageBand on the iMac, but after copying it to my laptop it only bounced a few times and then disappeared from the Dock. TIA! octavation at line breaks
Hi, version 2.8.2 (How) is it possible to move the octavation line only AFTER line breaks? Sometimes there are in the following line fingerings and so on, which I want to have inside the octavation line, and moving the octavation line BEFORE the line break lets view the octavation line too high. Re: dotted phrasing slurs
There are no predefined macros to make dotted phrasing slurs. However, you can read at http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.8/Documentation/user/lilypond/Default-files.html on how to find the definition of the \slurDotted macro (which is included in the file property-init.ly). Then, you can easily make your own macro that gives dotted phrasing slurs, just replace every occurance of "Slur" by "PhrasingSlur". /Mats Monk Panteleimon wrote: Dear friends, How can I make a dotted phrasing slur? I'm very interested in getting involved in Lilypond development. I have a fair bit of experience in both computer programming (databases, Java, XML/XSLT, etc.) and music (Master of Music in Composition, Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, etc.) -- in fact, I currently make about half my living wage in each of those disciplines. Right now, I'm finishing up a big commission (a chamber opera), and have two more coming down the pipe. However, I would like to start in to helping the Lilypond codebase in any way I can, immediately upon completing the current score (should be in about two weeks). In order to prepare for that, I have a few preliminary questions... =) 1. How much of the code is in C++, and how much in Scheme? Does the roadmap see this balance changing in any way, and if so in what direction? [n.b. I have very little experience with either C++ or Scheme specifically.] 2. Consequently, can I get away with learning one or the other, and if so which one would you prefer I learn? In other words, where would my learning curve best be applied, given the needs of Lilypond development over the next few months (and possibly years)?. 3. I would probably also be willing to take on the Newsletter Editor position (but I do want to roll up my sleeves and actually do some bit-pushing as well) -- is there an opportunity for me to start to learn some of the internal workings of Lilypond as a result of "editing the newsletter"? Hi all, A number of you have inquired recently about LilyPad, my Mac OS X LilyPond front-end, so I thought I'd notify the list that no, it's not dead yet. I've recently restarted development, albeit slowly. (Slow progress is infinitely better than no progress.) The code is now publicly available and licensed under the GPL. Re: Mixed questions
If you add a \bar "||:", you will get the desired double bar line before the line break and start repeat after the line break. /Mats Quoting Stephen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: The double bar-line followed by a repeat bar-line is significant for many. Every 32-bar song form of the Twentieth Century needs a double bar-line after the 4-bar intro and/or a double bar-line after the 16-bar verse, followed by a 32-bar chorus with repeats and an alternative. The slur on the repeat alternative is similiarly required for every poplular song. Someone must have solved this already. I have to say that this new example is nicely simplified. Stephen - Original Message - From: Matthijs Frankena To: lilypond-user@gnu.org Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 9:43 AM Subject: Re: Mixed questions Hello, With regard to the questions I posed a few days ago: - the first question has been solved with \hspace (something I thought I had already tried out, but apparently not correctly). The code now says: poet = \markup { \hspace #10 \center-align { "Words by" "MORE OF THAT POET" } } without the \hspace, the text falls over the left edge of the paper (is that on purpose, or an oversight of sorts?). For the other two questions, I have toned down the code: \version "2.8.1" \score{ \relative c'' { c d e f f e d c \bar "||" \break \repeat "volta" 2 { c b a c e c d e( } \alternative { { fis) g e c } { d) c b c \bar "|."} } } } - I'd like a double bar line at the end of bar 2, then a line break, then the repeat-part, starting with its proper bar line. Setting the double bar line cancels the repeat bar line, adding a " \bar "|:" " to bring it back cancels the double bar line in the bar before it. Any way to have both of them? - the last bar of the repeat before the alternative endings ends with a note with a slur. The slur is finished properly on the first note of the first alternative, but not so in the second alternative. Just adding a ")" does not help, Lilypond complains about not being able to end the slur. \repeatTie gives a very unsatisfactory result, which seems immune to the normal tie-tweaking. Any other way of getting the proper end of the slur? including eps file
Hi, In lilypond 2.8.4 I'm trying to attach an eps file above a staff with the \epsfile markup command. the eps file gets included, but seems to be anchored to the bottom of the page instead of being related to the staff no matter how I change the parameters of the markup.
