The simple principle is that contexts are drawn in the order they are defined in the score. Because of the syntax of the \addlyrics command, \addlyrics copyRhythmFrom copyRhythmTo, where copyRhythmFrom and copyRhythmTo are any kind of musical expressions, the lyrics comes after the corresponding music, unless you define the contexts before you do the \addlyrics as you describe above. I'm just wondering, Are you using tetex, and is it configured to output PS higher than 300dpi??? That could be an explanation as to why the notes output dotty. . . . Alignment with lilypond-book 1.6.5
Hi. What is happened with alignment in lilypond-book 1.6.5? With 1.6.4, the code \begin{lilypond} ... \end{lilypond} in a .tex file gave a score with staves right aligned (like ly2dvi 1.6.4 or 1.6.5). Now, the same code, gives me a score with staves center aligned. Multi-measure rests
It doesn't seem to be possible to attach articulations to multi-measure rests. Is this by design? Hi- Why does Lilypond try to "join" voices? Sorry I don't have a better way to explain it- but, for example, a quarter-note/crotchet in one voice that occurs at the beginning of a run of eighth-notes/quavers will apparently cause the first quaver to become a crotchet, which doesn't seem to make much sense. I think of the Voice context as independent lines of counterpoint; is that incorrect? Therefore I tried quite hard to have the teTeX and LiveTeX distributions coexist. Today I re-installed tetex-tiny several times (due to clashes of environment variables (TEXMFCNF) settings there where some problems), until it produced proper output. Now the spacing looks perfect. I had thaught that lilypond already takes care of the proper spacing and LaTeX only does the typesetting, but the two programs are much more interwoven. So the solution will likely be to keep a subset of the teTeX-tiny package -- just latex.{fmt,exe} and the kpathsea-related programs and of course a proper texmf.cnf file, which points to the proper directory trees in the TeXLive branch. Or maybe I switch over from LiveTeX to teTeX. (Since I have Win2k and Redhat linux on my PC, I would prefer to use a common distribution). Thanks for your valuable hints! Sorry, I think I understand- the default is to name all of the voices the same, so lilypond treats both voices as one. This default behaviour seems odd, though. If I'm entering note data in two separate bracketed-voice-contexts, why assume that it's the same Voice? Key sigs & repeats
Hi, I have compiled up Lilypond 1.6.4 and am having a great time. It's brill. However, I'm having a few formatting problems, which I'm trying to isolate. More of that later... However, I have a repeat section following another repeat section: e.g. \repeat volta 2 { blah blah } \repeat volta 2 { \key bes \major blah blah } The key change appears between the previous repeat-end marker and the next repeat start marker. I've not seen this representation before, as I would have expected the key-sig to appear at the beginning of the first bar of the second repeat section. Is this normal behaviour or is it common-place is some circles. If it is, is there a way of altering this behaviour? Secondly, I have a grace note at the beginning of a bar following a repeated section and it is shoved (rather unceremoniously) into the preceding bar (the last bar of the repeat).
