Mine has gone up 14% too.
It’s now just over £900 for my son (18) and I to renew.
I’ve been debating whether to renew ever since I saw the price.
I think I’m going to but I think this might be the last time.
I’ve not enjoyed it as much this last few seasons and I’m finding it harder to
justify the expense.
My lad is hoping to go away to uni (and will be full price after next season)
so it feels like a good time to call it quits.

Hi all,

Seeing John's post about BDTR reminded me of the yarn of the greatest heist in
Web History, when the web domain for Man Utd Football Club, www.mufc.co.uk, was
the legally obtained possession of LeedsListers, until the domain police forced
the handover to the yobs at Old Trafford.

Does anybody know the real history, and willing to depart a brief paragraph or
three about the story, which I believe will also reveal the real history behind
the "Better Dead Than Red" (BDTR) mousemats?

Everlasting Thanks in anticipation to anyone willing to indulge me, and for

Whilst at Da Rev's funeral, Jabba mentioned that he had a few LUFC videos. I
asked if I could have them to digitise and then archive. They duly arrived at
Betty Towers in a massive cardboard box. There are rather a lot of them! They
have been in Jabba's loft for 25 years but once I had hooked up my equally old
VCR player, guess what? Yup it is an absolute treasure trove of the Mighty
Leeds. Especially exciting was seeing a 19 year-old Noel Whelan exhibiting
just how good Leeds has been with young talent. I will start the mammoth
digitisation task over the next couple of months and share them to the list.

Second thing, Da Rev's lovely missus, Tracey has sent me 4 BRTD mouse mats.
Would anyone like one? Imagine not just a BRTD mat but also part of Da Rev's
collection.

On you go

[LU] RE 14%

2025-04-10 Thread Kevin Lewis via Leedslist
As an ageing fan from the other end of the country, I have considered
adding myself to the ST waiting list.
I have not done this for 2 reasons.

 1. I'm not going to pay (every year) to be stay on a waiting list. I
think that is a bit steep. By all means make people refitted every year,
but asking them to pay is wrong.

2. It must be increasingly difficult for ST holders to get to every game,
especially for travelling fans. The number of games not in the traditional
3pm Saturday slot must over 50% these days, and with the times often
changed quite late in the day you really have no idea which day/time a game
will be played. A nightmare for anyone who has to allow for work and
family commitments.

My only hope is that I will still be of an age to travel to games when the
stadium gets increased to £52,000, if indeed that is a serious proposition.

Re: [LU] Boro

2025-04-10 Thread Kevin Lewis via Leedslist
Just following on from what Dave said.

I kind of agree about the midfield. I really don't think Ampadu and Tanaka
have actually gelled together at all. They seem to want to do the same job
when playing together. The midfield seems to function better with one of
them alongside either Gruev or Rothwell.

The problem now with Struijk and Rothwell injured, is that there is nobody
to bring in to midfield to freshen it up as Tananka and Gruev tire. This
was a significant issue towards the end of last season. With Archie
playing right back as well there was no respite for Gruev and Kamara.

I think Wober may have to come in at some point so Ampadu can push forward
allowing Tanaka or Gruev a rest here and there, if Rothwell is out for long.

Of course the other issue is that the set pieces were unsurprisingly poor
with our only decent deliverer, and only real threat both injured.

I'm not sure how to resolve those issues together, but let's hope Daniel
can!

Well that was a wild ride -being a leeds fan must take years off your life
For some reason, even when drinking , I get miles more nervous watching on
TV than in the ground Obviously not helped by shocking decisions by the
linesmen- the Tanaka 'goal' would have let me enjoy the match with a 2 goal
cushion.
Dan James was outstanding and he, above all of them, seems to be the one
really dragging us forward determined not to fail again ( so of course he
is the one new doubt for weekend )
I think , just as we got lucky in some ways with Amps and Gruev being
injured earlier on so Tanaka and Rothwell played, Struick being injured and
moving Amps to Centre back actually suits us.
Bamford looked sharp and took his 'goal' well, I would consider starting
him on Saturday instead of a totally out of form Piroe
With the other results going our way the picture looks so much better than
immediately after the Luton game ( 2 defeats for Sheff U really helping)
It is totally up to us now, each game looked at individually is capable of
being a leeds win on paper.
It seems very odd that the same lino has now chalked off 3 perfectly good
goals by us ( last night, Coventry and Millwall) even odder is that
despite those awful , and obvious, mistakes we won all 3 of those games
So it's now back in our own hands, we are top of the league with 5 to go -
3 at-home , so please Leeds do not blow it now - thank you

Dave

The ‘Leeds List’ claims to be the oldest surviving football supporters’
email list in the UK. Starting life on Internet Relay Chat in the early
1990s, the 'List' parallels the democratisation and development (or
otherwise) of the internet. Claire and John will tell the tale of a

Well, that is generous of you, given what they have said about
rebalancing the differential between long established ST holders and
   the new purchasers.

I think it’s a grift. And I think it says, fuck off if you don’t like
it cos someone else will pay it (which is what you said but you were
more polite)… as with those SM posts from fans having to “prove” they
attended games when the club is saying they didn’t and therefore trying
   to prevent them from renewing.

They don’t want fans who don’t go to the shop and buy overpriced food.
Leeds not alone in this of course.

But they want the atmosphere… oh the dilemma.

Hi,

I think I offered my collection of Leeds videos a while ago, with no response
except for a History of Leeds video, which I think Betty requested (hope you
received it). Unfortunately, I had to donate the footie tapes to the charity
shops of Nottingham (where they are probably collecting dust in a storeroom
somewhere). I would have preferred them going to Leeds fans, though. Looking
forward to seeing how the digitisation goes.

A BDTR mouse mat would be nice!
