[libreoffice-l10n] Where are these translated strings come from?

2011-10-08 Thread Korrawit Pruegsanusak
Hello all,

I've looking at a recent commit in translations repo for my language
(Thai), and wondered where some of translated strings come from.

All Thai language changes are in [1], which contains:
* My translations starting from 2011-09-06
* Some fuzzy strings dated 2011-07-28, which I didn't have an account
to translate yet, but have my name as last-translator. Examples are
[2], which translations were incorrect. Are these translation strings
come automatically from Pootle? or are there another translators? or
where are they come from? Thanks.

[libreoffice-l10n] PO files in 3.5 have extracted comments?

2011-10-08 Thread Korrawit Pruegsanusak
Hello all,

I've noticed that PO files in libo35x_ui have the "extracted comments"
[1] which line starting with "#." [2], compared with 3.4 which don't
have these [3]. And these comments are illegible. Are these
intentional?

All strings are coming from Pootle. Could you please check in Pootle,

[libreoffice-l10n] [ANNOUNCEMENT] LibreOffice 3.5 translations

2011-10-08 Thread Andras Timar
Hi,

Some of you have already noticed that LibreOffice 3.5 strings have
been uploaded to Pootle. I migrated 3.4 translations and I did not
only a simple pomigrate2 but I applied a few code changes that did not
affect the translated text but lowered your fuzzy/new word count
significatly. I'll publish the script later today, it's on my other
computer. I will put the current en-US SDF file and pot files online,
too.

New feature is the KeyID comment. KeyIDs will help to find strings
seen on the user inteface in Pootle. You can search for them in
Pootle, use the Search field and check Comments checkbox. LibreOffice
3.5 betas will contain the KeyIDs in front of English UI elements.

Also please note that LibreOffice 3.5 is a moving target. There can be
string changes until it freezes in December. I'll update Pootle
regularly, and I'll export translations to git regularly as well.

Let me know, if you have questions.

Thanks,
Andras

I migrated 3.4 translations to 3.5 yesterday. Now strings for both
versions are in Pootle, so I don't think it is possible to
automatically migrate translations from 3.4 to 3.5, because
translators can edit both in Pootle. But any team can decide to finish
3.4 translations first and not to touch 3.5 until then. I can help in
migration later.

Corrected for Icelandic (is).
All the errors were due to an extra space in XML-tags, for example instead of . Don't know where that comes from.

BTW there'sa bunch of fuzzies in Help with changes like;
msgid "2 Syntax error"
msgstr "51 Innri villa "
I'm wondering if/how/when a proper separation of message strings and
variables/tags could be implemented for helpcontent (and in general).
Any thoughts?

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] l10n bugs to fix for LibreOffice 3.4.4

2011-10-08 Thread fios
I'm aiming to have gd done for midweek next week, i'm down to well under 10,000
words (that includes the inherited junk Timar spotted). Not touching 3.5 until
I've either made the november release or know for certain that I'll miss it ;)

Can I just make sure it's only the 3.4 UI strings which are needed, not the
Extensions etc?

Cheers

Hi Michael,

Good question. There is one extension from the Extensions module that
is bundled with LibreOffice. So you may want to translate it for the
sake of completeness. It is NLPsolver. You can see it in Calc, choose
Tools -> Solver... menu, then on the Solver dialog press Options...
button. Two of the three solver engines are provided by NLPSolver: SCO
Evolutionary Algorithm and DEPS Evolutionary Algorithm.

Cheers,
Andras
